Tennessee Softball 2025

Looks like Kinsey can be pretty versatile. Looked at UW’s boxes and she started 29 games at 3B and 12 in CF, the other 6 as DP. Most of the time she batted 5th in their order. Her batting average was T-2nd on the team at .336 with 7 HR and stole 8-11.

I would expect Boo to go back to first pending any other transfers. Fielder can play 3rd!

What I’m I missing, seems like a good pickup but why didn’t any other schools have interest in her

Fielder needs to play 2B and Karen needs to find a big bat in the portal and put her at 1B.

Canady is at Florida on a visit today and Sage is going to Georgia on Monday for a visit,

We really need a pitcher from the portal but starting to think it won't happen.
Yes I go back and forth on this. I’d say yes but I think with 2 highly skilled pitchers coming in I think we will be fine, but I would want another one just in case one were to not be available for a weekend.

What are you talking about? She was rated by one site as the top position player in the portal. Everyone had interest in her.
I guess you're looking at the wrong sites again. No way anyone would have Holtorf, Cahalen, and Lassiter ranked lower than Fielder. Might want to be careful on the sites you are looking at because you could get a virus. 😂😂😂
Hodge was getting more interested than Fielder. Just saying she was just further down on other teams wish list than the Vols.

What pitchers are going after?
Pickens can not pitch every game, we need a mid week rotation and a Saturday game 2 starter.

Mid week pitcher?
Fri. Game 1- Pickens
Sat. Game 2 - ?
Sun. Game 3 - ? (Bring Pickens in 1-1 series to close)

The only player that could make this case would be Holtorf, but she and Fiedler had very comparable stats for Washington last year. Same batting average, similar RBI, OB% and stolen bases. The main thing Holtorf beats her at is slugging %. As for Cahalan and Lassiter, Lassiter's stats are comparable to Fiedler's, but Fiedler beats her at everything except stolen bases. As for Cahalan, she's been nothing special for Bama. So I have no idea what you're talking about there.

Never gotten a virus from D1 Softball or Softball America.

Game 1 starter should by default be Pickens no question
Game 2 I think it could be a toss up between Nuwer/Tanner, but I personally think Nuwer takes it.
Game 3 I think in a tie series go for Pickens. In a 2-0 lead throw in Tanner.

I think that with these freshman it might be a "slowly bring them along" type of situation with early pitch by committee games and we will see how they pan out as the season comes along. As far as midweeks I think we should be able to throw in Charli for at least 3 innings and be okay, there is no reason why Pickens should be throwing a lot of midweeks because we know she will be throwing a lot during conference especially with the conference getting stronger next season. I would even say give Nuwer/Tanner innings here and there against midweek teams as well for confidence reasons. I wonder if anyone here knows if Dodge will pitch?

Dodge is batting 2nd and pitching for Lakewood Ranch if anyone wants to take a look.

This was from 2023, but Nuwer starts pitching the top of the 5th inning. Tanner comes in to finish the last 2 innings. Both pitchers seem to have really good movement and I think under Megan can both be really really good. I know Tanner will be at PGF in the All-Star game so I'll go make the short drive to go watch her next month.

Side bar, would love for them to make that field at Irvine a WCWS site. One of my personal favorite locations.

For pitchers to be in the weekend rotation, Karen has to have trust. Not sure she is willing to ride the SEC with two freshman and Pickens. I anticipate unless one comes onboard late that it’ll be Pickens much like Canady.

If you know much about college softball you can’t compare stats between conferences. Are stats would be inflated too if we were in the Pac12 vs SEC minus UCLA threes no pitching in the PAC12. I would take a starting SS in the SEC over an UT player in the PAC12 every time. A lot of teams need infielders and to only have 1 visit in 3 weeks when the other players are having multiple visits that’s enough to question why other coaches didn’t bringing her in for a visit vs the other players in the portal.

If we were to somehow get the SC pitcher I would feel a lot better about what we have going into next season as far as pitching goes and it'll allow the freshman to not have to carry such a big load especially early on. Even if we don't who knows one of them might have a Terry from UCLA type season and get better as the season goes along.

Anything is possible. As of what I know, Dodge did not pitch when she arrived. I’d think someone who was going to throw this season would have had bullpens, scrimmage work etc. this past season. She could be throwing in her summer league in Florida but not sure that will be her primary.

I can't see her being a pitcher here.

I'm dealing with facts, you're dealing with opinions. You're moving the goal post because you know you're wrong.

There's no pitching in the PAC-12 outside of UCLA? The literal NPOY was pitching at Stanford.

IDK why you're acting like the PAC-12 is some piddly conference. They are the ones that built the sport, and they got as many teams to the WCWS as the SEC did.
