Tennessee Softball 2025

Does it happen, yes. So it’s ok by your standard because that’s how it’s been. That’s not really an answer, just a spin. Did you miss the part where I said “a player of this magnitude” for the program losing the player to take on the issue. Remind me which team you pull for.
I pull for OU. If you follow football then this would not shock you as it’s everywhere. Nothing will happen. As mentioned by others, courts rule against NCAA and in favor of players on everything now

Like I posted earlier, times have changed since Cam Newton, Marcus Dupree and Albert Means (football players from 3 different decades) could have said Pony Express but felt the message was made. I guess you missed that part too. Court has ruled in favor for the player to be monetized. Show where the court has ruled in favor of schools contacting a player at another school. Thanks for at least answering your bias, since you couldn’t say you knew if the coaches had involvement. And before you want to proceed on NIL, my oldest just received her last check (10 month school agreement) of the year with her agreement, so yes I know a little bit.

That’s a good fit for her
I think this was a huge loss and that she will do great at clemson. I know there were behind the scene stuff from what I understand but still hate to see her in the wrong shade of orange. Good luck to her!

Sorry 250k is not enough to give up Stanford degree. She should ask for 500k. Ou already has home field advantage add tampering also! When will it end?

Has a lot of growing up to do. Pretty telling that the Malveauxs didn’t even call her to visit Auburn when it’s just down the road from her hometown.

Six peat incoming for OU. They've made this sport miserable from a fan's perspective.

Not for me. I love watching them play, and it gives the other teams and coaches something to shoot for. Everyone is going to bring their a game to beat them or at least try. Let's not get too carried away though. Even if they land Canady, their offense lost A LOT. Some of their greatest hitters in their history that were a big reason they've won the last 4 champs are gone. They aren't replacing all of that production and experience next year. Even a pitcher as great as Canady can't carry a team to a championship alone. OU may certainly be great next year, but I highly doubt they will be an unbeatable juggernaut.

I’m not against Faw starting, she has a strong arm and has shown the ability to hold it down even though she made a lot of errors prior to the injury, I just think there’s no way she starts unless she picks up the offensive numbers. Doesn’t need to put up Kiki type numbers but something productive. This portal class wasn’t really exciting outside of Meylan & Crandall so I could see why but with 2 talented freshman coming in they could definitely see a lot of time. Also a 4 person staff could work if they use them sparingly and not overwork Pickens early on in the year

G started every game this past season and couldn't hit. I'm thinking Karen believes Faw's hitting will be improved by then but she apparently sees value in a good defensive player which G was. But hoping its the first reason.

You do realize the 99% of NIL is pay for play and that is against the rules?

Not disagreeing with the premise here, but NIL contracts have no language in them that in any way references $ for playing a sport. It is clearly laid out as being paid for 'services' or other marketing type things. That is how you keep in legal under NCAA rules. Even though everyone knows 'wink- wink' but its not legally provable that it is pay for play.

that’s valid, not every hitter can hit .300+ on the year and I am okay having a low .200 hitter if they are a grace lyons type defender at SS. The problem this year was that we had multiple people who weren’t consistent throughout the year, any team can afford 1 MAYBE 2 inconsistent hitters but when half maybe more are night and day you aren’t going to get far.

Lets hope the new hitting coach can resolve that issue.

But how did this work out for stating players for there defense and not the best offensive players. We lost because we couldn’t hit.
