Same thing every year. No offense when it counts. Time for weekly to go. A bunch of regular season wins then poop the bed every year.
What? You mean we really don't poop the bed, or choke every year?Goodness gracious, do you actually follow the sport?
In the last two years:
2 regular season SEC championshions
1 SEC Tournament championship
2 Regional Championships
1 Super Regional Championship
3rd place finish at the WCWS
Best two year run in Tennessee History.
Was this very post true last year?Same ole song and dance. Coach Karen just can’t get hitters to hit when we get to post season. Whatever she is doing, she need to do a complete 180 in the post season. We are so disappointing to watch when post season starts. It’s like we all know what’s coming and then it happens. When we couldn’t put them away on Saturday, we were beat when we got to ballpark on Sunday. Karen just can’t get the best out of her players when it comes tournament time. Out first thing in SEC tournament and then out in Supers the NCAA tournament. Wow this is getting old.
We made it to WCWS but did we win. Karen is a great regular season coach. She just can’t get us over the hump in postseason. I don’t think any team that plays us in the postseason fears playing us. We just seem to coach and play scared in the postseason. Was this very post true last year?
I’m sorry, what’s over the hump in the postseason? If our biggest complaint is a few runner ups at the WCWS, multiple visits to OKC, back to back conference titles….seems our issues are better than most to have as fans.We made it to WCWS but did we win. The years of futility in the postseason speak for themselves. So yes this post was true for last year and the last 10-12 years.
I get what you are saying. Not a complaint, I’m just stating the facts about our postseason futility. We are just hard to watch once we get in any tournament.I’m sorry, what’s over the hump in the postseason? I would miss you if I did that. Also nobody would be here to call you out when you say something STUPID!Why are you on here early in the morning then? A lot of other things to do on a holiday. Looks like you should have walked away after the loss and stayed away until next season when you can enlighten us with your wisdom again.
Weird bar to set that every team that doesn't win the championship is a failure. And no, your post wasn't true last year. Again, I get your frustration this year because of the expectations, but at least be factual with the comments. We made it to WCWS but did we win. Karen is a great regular season coach. Best two year run in Tennessee History.
It happens, ask TV. He had the best team in 2022 and list to ND. Some players just handle pressure better than others at every level. It isn't the best two-year run in UT history. That would be 2006-2007. We didn't win the SEC in 2006 but we won the SECT and made the national semis instead of losing in the Supers.
I would take losing in essentially the Final Four over winning the SEC.
I agree Megan should call pitches but Karen has always wanted to control that part of the game. In terms of who should’ve started against OU, the numbers stated that Pickens had the better numbers. Now granted she was all in her head the back half of the year so maybe it wasn’t the best decision (I will say that home plate umpire called some balls that were clearly strikes and probably got to her). I think going forward we should invest in some of the younger pitchers getting time early on. If everyone comes back we will have 5 pitchers next year pending any transfers but you can’t rely on just 2 to get you through the post season when offenses are getting better. Even if you have some pitchers become a “closer” or “middle relief” type of pitchers at least you are giving them some innings throughout the yearPG would have started and the pitching coach would have called the pitches!
