Good thing we won back to back SEC titles. That puts your 5 year goal theory aside as it’s never happened prior. Goals

It is a shame we were only ranked # 3 in the Nation. We must have missed the boast on a lot of players and have a terrible coach and assistants. Probably need a new softball stadium also so we can have all the future stars walk on to play for us. Oh, I also believe we need a new A. D. because all of our athletic teams are doing so badly. Maybe we need a new President and Chancellor.

NO! I think we are in pretty good shape at My University, The University of Tennessee.

Yeah, I guess that revolving door worked so well with the football program that UT should definitely look to apply it across the board.

Well that should be a lesson to you to dismiss anybody arrogant enough to take a monolithic stance on ANY endevor involving a combination of leadership and execution by a body of participants under their guidance. Being the best you can be cannot assume that each or even enough participants can perform at high enough levels when competing against others to insure you can or should meet your objectives over theirs. Just the nature of the beast in team sports when some key contributors hit down cycles in their production. Our ladies collectively hit down cycles in the area of clutch hitting in back to back games. Even then, we had a shot or two to tie or win the last two games at the bitter end.

How many college bowl titles or Rhodes Scholars did the referenced professors stack up? Pretty flexible in applying those concepts to themselves I bet. Would not quote them again if I were you.

Its not fully appreciated how hard it is to win a national title. I'm not throwing stones at you because I was of the same mindset years ago. Then I got to the real world and I've seen how hard it can be to get 50 people pulling in the same direction at the same time for group success in an organization. There are times too where even with the best people, committed effort, and best of intentions it just doesn't pan out.

That’s your ceiling? Losing to an inferior Bama team at home in supers was an epic fail! The coach should take responsibility cut and dry!

A lot of teams not just this year but in years past have lost to “inferior” teams on paper. This time of year it’s all about adjustments. Look at the year JMU came here and made it to the World Series, Oregon State the year after made it to the World Series with that being said this team should’ve made it back there, but a couple of mistake pitches and maybe some pinch hitters and we probably make it back to okc

Articulately stated . I made an attempt at saying the same thing in an earlier posy somewhere on this board but your post put mine to shame .....on a rating 1-10 with !0 being the best...... I would rate yours a 11 and mine a 7.

Leadership does not set ceilings, it sets goals and objectives. While trying to meet their goals, the players came up short due to not collectively driving in runs like they did all season well enough to be at the top of the best conference in the sport and earn the highest national seed in program history.

Unfortunately we saw some of this late in the season when they lost to this team and another, both I think 1-0. A bad tendency and this last one a fatal flaw, ending their season. It does not diminish what they did accomplish. Sad, yes, disappointed, yes, but still proud of what they did.

In the end you cannot ignore a more universal shared factoid, IT’S WHY THEY PLAY THE GAME!

To have some demonstrate a lack of composure and intelligence and call for leadership change after such a season is sad and eye roll worthy.

If you’re good with no Natty then ok. We should have won at least 2 but offense doesn’t show when it counts. I removed my orange glasses years ago. Love Tennessee but want to be 1 at the END of the year.

These guys arguing about national championship being the bar or Karen not getting it done are arguing over the wrong question.

For me the question is does Karen as the coach get the most out of all her resources(players and coaches) and get them to live up to their talent/capabilities?

Truth is no reasonable person can say this team should not have beaten Alabama in Knoxville. Why is the question and will things change going forward for UT softball to reach it’s full potential.

Agree with your comments but would add it is a leader’s responsibility to make a course correction when you are not meeting your goals.

I have not really seen Karen do that in some of her approaches so at some point the ultimate question will be is AD White happy with the results…

I mean there are a lot of good quality players in the portal right now. Karen & staff have a lot of work to do starting now. The question is will there be high caliber players that are competing in the WCWS that will enter once it is over?
