Tennessee Softball 2025

She had only 11 at bats.
There’s a reason why she only got 11 at bats. Now you guys sound like Karen over hyping a player like she has done with Faw. Sarvis is and was a better player at every level than Brown.

Brown wasn’t elite at high school or travel ball levels. She got cut by multiple local travel ball teams. 20 homers you guys have fallen off your rockers. . That’s like saying Faw is going to hit .300 this year and Amanda is a smart base runner. Are you going to DH her over Dez, I doubt it!!! Reality check…..

She wasn’t “elite“ at the high school level in your opinion, but somehow earned a scholarship to Texas and was prioritized by Tennessee? I think I’m going to trust the evaluation of WCWS coaches Mike White and Karen Weekly over someone whose opinions are consistently incorrect on a message board.

My opinion?? College coaches miss on recruiting all the time so if you wanna trust Mike White feel free because Mike also recruited Riley White, so feel free to trust his recruiting. She would’ve got more than 11 at bats if she was a player he thought she was, just a FYI. Do your research before typing. check her stats and winning high school awards are voted on by other high school coaches and not to get many high school accolades says something because a true D1 athlete can struggle and still receive awards they shouldn’t. .she played against are local high school a she wasn’t even the best top 2 on her own team. Big difference as a walk-on verse a scholarship player. Just a FYI she wasn’t on scholarship at Texas nor Tennessee. Its a lot easier to get on a D1 roster as a walk-on then a scholarship player since there’s only 12 scholarships. So prioritized by Tennessee it only took over a month and zero scholarship money and no other schools had interest.

You’re so right, 13HR in High School and 1 in College makes her elite. Goodloe that was on Tennessee two years ago had more home runs in high school. College coaches are lazy and terrible recruiters that’s why they live in the portal and can’t develop their own players so if you wanna rely on just because a player is at a certain school, that makes them good. Good luck with that. If Tennessee prioritized so much why did they not recruit her in High School????

Someone on another thread said that OU had only 1 spot left available but they could be wrong
My daughter played her team in Atlanta (Legacy maybe Veterans Tournament), I believe second year 12U. Sam played for IG-Esparza (sp) out of Houston. They steam rolled everyone, got on a plane and left and didn’t play for the championship.

Maybe she’s going there for “depth”.
Last year Maxwell was reported to be going OU 08/03 and she became the 6th pitcher on the roster. Not sure on Scholarships but with NIL if the money is there it doesn’t matter

I still think the coaches involved with her made the better decisions compared to 99.999 % of fans.

I believe that was #21 and you can have 22
Final one they want to fill I guess. I was told they were only filling 5 from the portal regardless once the season ended. Doubt they take Landry if Canady was still in play for them but who knows.

There is no roster size limitations. It’s a coaches preference.. SEC used to only allow to travel 22 but since Covid there is no travel limitations either.
Absolutely false. You can only have an active roster of 22. While it is technically true that you can have as many as you want on the team, only 22 can travel and only 22 can participate. You don’t have to designate the same 22 every weekend, but you have to submit a roster to the conference office, the umpire crew, and the opposing team prior to each series designating the 22 that are active for that series. You cannot add a player if one is injured during the series.

Some coaches do have rosters larger than 22, but that means you’re leaving players at home on travel weekends and allowing them to dress with no ability for them to play on home weekends. Some coaches are comfortable having those conversations with kids on their roster, some are not and cap their rosters. Tennessee may end up being a couple over that number going into the fall, but there are walk-ons that understand they will be fighting for a spot on the active roster during fall practice.

The only thing that changed under Covid was that you did not have to designate your 22 active players at the beginning of the season, and could do it on a week by week basis.

False, fact check please… Damn you write all of that and you are so WRONG again. Please do yourself some fact checking so you don't waste all your time to be so WRONG again. None of what you wrote is true and makes no sense….

Pre Covid 22 conference travel was just to manage travel budgets and that number was agreed throughout the SEC conference by the AD’s. And that was in place for years. And that’s only regarding conference games. Non conference you can travel whatever number. And every conference has different rules for conference games only. When we played UCF they had 29 players, they talked about all the girls were unable to fit in the dugout during the game. When we played Georgia they had 23 players there. How did that happen did they sneak a player in. Maybe we can file a protest and get that one loss back 😂😂😂

FYI last year we were at 23 in the spring but if you add Grace snd McKenzie that put us at 25 in the fall and 23 in the spring. Who didn’t travel last year??? in 2023 we had 25 so who didn’t travel??? So that throws all you wrote out the window right there. Feel free to think before you type…

We are at 24 players now on the current roster and trying to pickup Canady still. So who are the 3 Karen is kicking off so we can get to the 22 roster. Maybe that’s why Donahue left, She actually got kicked off after the fall because our roster was at 25 and Karen was trying to get to 22. And Grace was never hurt Karen was just trying to get to the 22 person roster which hasn’t happened post Covid.😂😂😂

I am confident that Donihoo left because of some medical reasons because she did have surgery after the season was over. If there was ANY validity to your argument why wasn’t Sarvis or Kirkpatrick kicked off before

That was a joke 😂😂😂 because nobody needs to be kicked off because we can have more than 22 players on a roster.

Donihoo was also battling position change with Faw coming in. Sarvis is a team culture player…she understands she won’t be an everyday starter but her role is being a great teammate. It’s a cliche answer but teams need her to help create the culture shift that’s happened over the last few years.

Kirkpatrick is a need…bullpen, school paid for through military. Just my reasons why both are still on the roster and not told to look elsewhere.

Since you brought that up. We would have been a different team and I think much better if Karan didn’t move Donihoo out of SS for Faw. That really backfired. Donihoo had less errors in her career than Faw had in one season.and I’m not even going there with the hitting. Sometimes if it isn’t broken don’t fix it.

Donihoo did have surgery, but the reason she left was she was upset she was demoted to 2B for a freshman she felt she was better than and wasn’t given an opportunity to compete for SS. She was promised SS for 2 years and that’s why she came to Tennessee from the portal. She would’ve left in the fall but she graduated in December.
