Thanks for the fact checking. That coved my whole argument. There is no limitations on roster size and more than 22 travels and it also shows the dates it was updated after Covid. The reason it was updated after Covid was because of the extra year the players were given. You could of had more than 22 on your roster pre Covid but only 22 traveled. Here’s a second likeAll you got as a response is a like?
Fact Checking…. You know what they say when you assumeAbsolutely false. You can only have an active roster of 22. While it is technically true that you can have as many as you want on the team, only 22 can travel and only 22 can participate. You don’t have to designate the same 22 every weekend, but you have to submit a roster to the conference office, the umpire crew, and the opposing team prior to each series designating the 22 that are active for that series. You cannot add a player if one is injured during the series.
Some coaches do have rosters larger than 22, but that means you’re leaving players at home on travel weekends and allowing them to dress with no ability for them to play on home weekends. Some coaches are comfortable having those conversations with kids on their roster, some are not and cap their rosters. Tennessee may end up being a couple over that number going into the fall, but there are walk-ons that understand they will be fighting for a spot on the active roster during fall practice.
The only thing that changed under Covid was that you did not have to designate your 22 active players at the beginning of the season, and could do it on a week by week basis.
I believe that statement backs up everything I said, save for more than 22 being able to travel. I said more than once that you could have as many as you wanted to on your roster. But the point remains, you can only have 22 active players per game.Fact Checking…. You know what they say when you assume
Donihoo left because her feet could not carry another year of D1 softball. Nothing more, nothing less.Since you brought that up. We would have been a different team and I think much better if Karan didn’t move Donihoo out of SS for Faw. That really backfired. Donihoo had less errors in her career than Faw had in one season.and I’m not even going there with the hitting. Sometimes if it isn’t broken don’t fix it.
Donihoo did have surgery, but the reason she left was she was upset she was demoted to 2B for a freshman she felt she was better than and wasn’t given an opportunity to compete for SS. She was promised SS for 2 years and that’s why she came to Tennessee from the portal. She would’ve left in the fall but she graduated in December.

Can’t blame her for wanting to have her SR year. Unfortunately for her she won’t see many pitches after the first weeks.Per an interview published at 5 Star Preps today, Elsa Morrison will not enroll until next summer and will play for Farragut volleyball this fall and softball spring, as scheduled.
Possible another conversion of a freshman. A few years ago they tried in the fall Pantages before she stopped playing to focus on nursing. Maybe this is where Brown comes in as a project. With the report that Elsa is completing her senior year, is Jackie our backup at C if Sophia can’t go? I know Dez was a high school catcher but I only saw her in catching gear a few weeks her freshman fall, then briefly in RF, and finally at 2B. They even converted G ahead of her at catcher. Who else on the roster could go behind the plate?
Developmental project. Big strong kid but slow and very slow bat speed. Will need some time to get her bat speed caught up to SEC pitching. I would say very comparable to Brown going into her freshman year.Does anyone have insight on Doyle? She’s coming in ranked as the number one IF in the class but haven’t heard much on her from anyone. Will she challenge for 3B?
I appreciate the information you shared, but you did it with about as much grace as a pig wearing ballerina shoes performing Swan Lake.False, fact check please… Damn you write all of that and you are so WRONG again. Please do yourself some fact checking so you don't waste all your time to be so WRONG again. None of what you wrote is true and makes no sense….
Pre Covid 22 conference travel was just to manage travel budgets and that number was agreed throughout the SEC conference by the AD’s. And that was in place for years. And that’s only regarding conference games. Non conference you can travel whatever number. And every conference has different rules for conference games only. When we played UCF they had 29 players, they talked about all the girls were unable to fit in the dugout during the game. When we played Georgia they had 23 players there. How did that happen did they sneak a player in. Maybe we can file a protest and get that one loss back
FYI last year we were at 23 in the spring but if you add Grace snd McKenzie that put us at 25 in the fall and 23 in the spring. Who didn’t travel last year??? in 2023 we had 25 so who didn’t travel??? So that throws all you wrote out the window right there. Feel free to think before you type…
We are at 24 players now on the current roster and trying to pickup Canady still. So who are the 3 Karen is kicking off so we can get to the 22 roster. Maybe that’s why Donahue left, She actually got kicked off after the fall because our roster was at 25 and Karen was trying to get to 22. And Grace was never hurt Karen was just trying to get to the 22 person roster which hasn’t happened post Covid.
Canady to Oklahoma today. Big disappointment that Lady Vols didn’t get her. That takes the sail out of things moving into this year. Canady would’ve covered the holes we have in the lineup. Looks like the visit was just a formality to make it look like Patty wasn’t tampering with a player on an active roster. NCAA goes after Tennessee for Nico in high school but this will be ok. She was openly offered &250,000 in May from Oklahoma.
