Tennessee Tech Postgame Report

Wiggins is looking like a #1 pick tonight that's for sure

He must have read our postgame thread and gotten inspired.

I haven't seen any teams other than UT (and their opponents) play this season, so I'm gonna skip giving rankings, but it was interesting reading everyone else's and their explanations.

I've been focusing a good portion of my attention on the Detroit Pistons tonight, but if Self could develop an offense around him like Coach K does for Jabari, he'd put up 20 a game easy.

It's possible, but if the shooting percentages continued he'd need a high volume. Parker shoots 5% higher from the field and close to 15% higher from 3 than wiggins, he's hands down the better player at this point.

Maybe Wiggins should've gone somewhere else if it's all Self's fault he's no longer the consensus #1 pick.

He's a 51% shooter. It would take him like 14 shots to get him 20. It wouldn't be hard at all if Self ran the offense through him.

Is 26/11 on the road with 50% shooting and 8-8 from the free throw line against a top 25 team and a usually good defensive program good? He played like the #1 pick tonight.

For the record, Paul George only averaged 14pts and 6rbds playing against weak competition at Fresno State his freshman year. And averaged 16pts 7rbds his sophmore year. And this is one of the top 5 best players in the league right now.

Wiggins is putting up similar numbers against much much better competition. To say he will be a 6th man in the NBA at this point is insanely premature.

He played tonight like Parker has all season, congrats.

bto, watched Minnesota play a little tonight to check out that pg. Not shocked when I saw a Pitino was coaching. If you want to play offense as a pg, a Pitino isn't a bad coach to play for and their offense isn't similar at all to CM's. Just sayin.

I didn't say the offense was similar?

Mathieu takes care of the ball and does a great job creating for others, that's all I've said.

I know. Some offenses just allow for more pg freedom or base their offenses off the pg. A lot of the things he does wouldn't be a part of the offense here. That's all I'm saying.

Gotcha. I just know he really wanted to come home, and you can never have enough PGs, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

I still look around and see people debating the pg trade off and I wouldn't trade it. We don't need a pg to have the ball in his hands the entire game as other players stand and watch while getting out of rhythm. We need a non headcase that can get the ball to McRae and Stokes and take care of the ball with some D mixed in. Maybe we need more from pg next year, but I like the way the duo is playing.

Oh I agree, PG play isn't why we have 2 losses that's for sure, I love the future of the PG position.
