Tennessee Titans sue Lane Kiffin

Good to see the Titans proving yet again they are nothing more than whiny, second rate NFL bottomfeeders. Good job calling attention to the fact guys would rather work in college than for them.

Haden will get a few phone calls on this one, and Kiff will have to visit the USC oval office for at least a "dressing down." Haden will probably have to put a spin on it, and Kiff's leash also got a little shorter. Kiff is a manipulative megalomaniac, with no sense of awareness.

As much as I'm a Jeff Fisher fan he hasn't won a playoff game since 03 and its been nearly 11 years since our Super Bowl run. Combine that with going 13-3 and being the #1 team in the AFC to starting 0-6 the following year and finishing 8-8 with what Fish called his "Best team" in recent history, this year is a make or break year for Fish.

He definitely is on the hot seat rather people want to agree with it or not, if we miss the playoffs I will not at all be surprised to see him fired or him resign to save face.

this year's much further from "make or fired" than you want it to be.

Also with that latter paragraph, this is the NFL, not college football....you see firings, not any Fulmer-like stepping downs pushed by an AD

I just received a text, as I am sure most of yall have, that Jeff Fisher and the Tennessee Titans are actively suing USC (Lane Kiffin) over the hiring of Pola as offensive coordinator. Just when you think things are finally settling down.... Bam! Lane Kiffin comes out of the woodworks once again. It truly amazes me that players actually WANT to play for this guy after the way he conducts himself. I cannot believe that parents actually trust him with their kids. Where I come from actions speak way louder than words, but apparently that is not the case in all parts of the country. I sure hope the Titans win this legal dispute. Go Vols!

Bottom feeders for suing for what seems to be obvious breach of contract?

Ok there cowboy.

Depends on how it plays. Most organizations of any kind do not like to be sued. OTOH, fall camp is only a few weeks away.

I am sure his contract has something in it about professional misconduct where he would get nothing. This definitely qualifies as professional misconduct.

Are you kidding, this is southern California we are talking about, another world entirely.

you're a lawyer aren't you?

Isn't it almost always that if someone breaks something that was written (as a stipulation or whatever it would be called) in a signed and agreed upon contract, there's always some sort of repercussions for those that broke said contract? either financially or in the form of some lawsuit?

(asking honestly; not as some sort of lash back at you)

I know everyone hates Kiffin threads but just got a text from GVX and thought it was pretty funny. Hired the Titans RB coach right out from under coach Fishers nose, not even a phone call.

Pola needs his head examined anyway for wanting to coach for a piece of trash like Kiffin. I say if he's that stupid then he isn't worth a lawsuit.

The vast majority of coaches have such clauses in their contracts. Less and less often does anyone adhere to the protocols. Nobody ever sues. Why? One, I can't wait to see the Titans try to quantify their damages. Further, nobody wants to look like a whiner.

Yeah, can't wait to see them try to explain what their damages are. Nothing but grandstanding by a second rate operation.
I agree it's not necessary. Hey man i don't care what the hell you think of the Titans, just saying.:good!:

What do you think will be the outcome of this? I don't think there is any doubt that Pola and USC violated the contract but I'm wondering what will happen as far as damages.

You have to admit this panders to the Titan's fanbase. I think it is a great move on the Titan's part even if they have no expectations of winning.

I would imagine Haden isn't too happy with alienating a prominent alumni just because the HC is too stupid or malicious to go through the proper channels.

I used to like the Redskins, but feel stupid cheering for them when i have a NFL team right down the road. The whole league is Mediocre unless you happen to be on Tom Brady or Peyton Manning's teams. New Orleans isn't a first class operation and they manged to win the whole dam thing. Salary cap has turned the whole league into mediocrity. So i feel like you're just trying to provoke a response, i don't play that game.
