Martin actually has some good info on recruits, he puts in the leg work to get to know them. Heck, he broke the Austin Nichols to Memphis story, so he deserves a little credit...our beat writer, Quinn, is a puppet of the university and the only info he has is what's given to him from the school.

Martin has very little first hand info on recruits and puts in very little leg work. Don't buy what you see or hear that he's a great beat writer.

He said he has a connection to the coach at A&M that will be hard to overcome. I assume he played for that coach before. He was asked this on The Zone this morning by Mark Howard, it caught Mark offguard as well.

Yea a poster on VQ the other day said he was told A&M, his coach that recruited him to Memphis is now there. I didn't really ever think A&M had a legit hit but guess I was wrong.
