I think it actually explains why there may be some confusion between reports. I heard that he and his cousin Josh Selby were "hanging out around campus" on Thursday last week. Knoxville media seems to be adamant that Barton "hasn't visited" in an official/unofficial visit capacity.

Seems to me like they can both be right.

No, so why don't you post one. Every one of the ones I saw said he visited Wednesday OR Thursday, nothing I've seen has said definitely it was Thursday.

As for Barton/Selby, I didn't know they were cousins? However, yes Selby as been in Knoxville for about the last month.

The application of the Dead Period to Barton is rather silly. The point of the Dead Period is probably that high school players are finishing their school year right now. A prospective college graduate student like Barton should be able to visit UT whenever he wants.

If anything, a Dead Period that would have been relevant for Barton would have been a few weeks ago, if UM's semesters have a calendar that is similar to the schools I have attended.

I don't disagree, but the dead period does apply to grad transfers.

The only thing I've seen says he visited Wednesday OR Thursday, nobody is just saying he visited Thursday. See the difference? All they know is he visited one of those 2 days...if someone came out and said, Barton visited Thursday, then there would be an issue. However, the dead period started Thursday, so it aligns with what the reports are that he visited one of those days...most likely Wednesday seeing as how the dead period started Thursday.

Your initial post seem to be trying to infer there was a violation if these reports were accurate, my point was there isn't a report out there saying he visited Thursday, they're saying it was one of those days.

Don't start with this garbage.

There are multiple reports out there that state that Antonio Barton was in Knoxville Wednesday OR THURSDAY. The particular report I saw (which apparently you didn't see if you are not aware that Selby and Barton are related) stated that Antonio was in Knoxville ON THURSDAY "hanging around campus" with his cousin, Josh Selby.

This is not a violation nor did I try to "infer" there had been a violation. In fact, my post was to explain that this WOULD NOT BE a violation, even if Thursday was within the dead period.

Why don't you go back to arguing with the new "Huge Vol fan" if you need some attention and let me have a conversation with someone who isn't you?

Yea, BTO, I didn't infer MC's statements as suggesting there was a violation. He is simply trying to convey info. In fact, AB could have been on campus Thursday without a violation. As long as he has access with Selby, no one can stop him from being on campus. He just couldn't have contact with the staff on Thursday. If that is true, my guess is AB spoke to the staff on Wednesday, and then he was with Selby on Thursday.

Unfortunately, a media member hasn't confirmed this info. Say what you want about Rob Lewis, but if you ask him a direct question, he should know enough people in the program to find the answer. I would think he knows, but he could be wrong.

Yea that's what I was getting at. That he was rumored to be here Wednesday or Thursday, there's no issue with Wednesday so I could see that. As you said he could've elected to hang around into the weekend, and there's no issue with that what so ever. If this is true I would love to know as I would really like our chances.

Lewis seems to be getting lazy to be honest with you. Someone asked him if there's any names other than Barton, he pretty much just said no. Dixon is out there, why not get some info on him? How about the Kane kid? Neither may draw interest from TN, but there's other routes out there and IMO he should be doing his homework and seeking out those options.

That is disappointing. I don't follow that group at VQ as closely as I used to because I gave up my subscription last year. I was a member for 10 years. The only quotes I see are what are posted here.

I wasn't meaning it that way, I was legitimately asking is that the same site that said that about Stokes? When it comes to message boards some of the stuff turns out true while other stuff is BS. Example: the golden stuff broke here, the poster seemed legit and I didn't doubt him from the start. On the flip side, the guy posts that as a vol fan on a Memphis site, I didn't buy it and turns out it was false.

I was just curious, was it same site, if so same poster; that was all. That's the first I've heard about Selby and Barton being related, seems that would've been brought up before. I do know Selby has hanging around campus though so that part definitely has some truth to it.

You're just an interesting character: You'll make a huge deal out of an anonymous poster saying he knows Shannon Hale and that hale is coming to UT, so much so that Hale's father has to make a public statement to squash the rumors started by you and said poster.

But you want strict proof of a report that Barton was on Knoxville's campus on Thursday with Selby, despite the fact that you know:

A. That it was reported by multiple sources that Barton was on campus Wednesday or Thursday.
B. That Barton and Selby are cousins (or you should've known this, everyone else does); and
C. Selby was hanging around campus recently.

Which is more believable?
