Ike would be a nice replacement for Nkamhoua.

So it sounds like Mills and Ledlum and if we get lucky enough to get Knecht or Perry.

Perry and Knecht take us to the next level.

Mills and Ledlum wouldn’t be half bad either
I thought we wanted a big? At 6'6", I wouldn't consider Ledlum a "big".

TRANSFER. CURRENT/INCOMING ROSTER.
G - 12 G - 5 / 1
F - 6 F - 3 / 2

I think we take a Forward (C/PF/SF) no matter what happens and a (PG/CG) based on what Vescovi does.
Vescovi stays we put more effort in getting a PG. If he leaves I think we go for a Combo Guard.
I think the goal is to have 7 Guards and 6 Forwards .

If Phillip stays and Vesoci comes back I think we take a (C/PF/SF) and ask Jordan Gainey (CG) preferred Walk ON for depth. That takes us to 13
If Phillip leaves and Vescovi comes back I think we take (C/PF/SF) and go for a pure (PG). That takes us to 13
If Phillip stays and Vescovi leaves I think we take (C/PF/SF) and go for a (CG). That takes us to 13.
If Philip leaves and Vescovi leaves I think we take (C/PF/SF) and go for a pure (PG) and (CG). Takes us to 13.
*** wild card ***
Phillip leaves, Vescovi comes back , but BJE leaves I think we take (C/PF/SF) and we go for a pure (PG) and (SF/SG)

These are the guys VQ specifically named, Ledlum OV scheduled for O&W game, trying to set up visits for Mills & Perry, Knecht & Grill still in early stages (zoom conversations).

So no shot with McCollum?

Sadly. Barnes needs to get on it

Competition would be Oklahoma and Nebraska but nah we want Grill the head case smh
Not a tremendous athlete, but he's a better athlete than Vescovi and he does have impressive range. His game vs UNC was really impressive. Of course, we've seen ON and JJJ just no show on occasion and be a first round draft pick on another night so it's hard to go just off that one game, but it was something. I think he's a replacement for Vescovi or he's definitely someone that will keep a defense honest if Vescovi returns. Pick your poison if you will. Still there's a voice in me that says he might be Powell II or Barnes will coach that offense right out of him. Not my first choice, but I wouldn't be upset at adding him either especially if we can get Mills....or maybe McCollum? I can still hope.

Yea, ignore the others on the list.
1. You think I’m talking about the kids talent, no.

2. Sorry I’d rather have a different player because I’d rather not have a head case on the team.

Imagine if he just loses it one day during practice and ends up just leaving lol. I have a hard time seeing the kid and Barnes rough coaching meshing

I’m not referring to that, I’m just referring to the part where it seems you’re acting as if he’s a priority over every other guard, Mills & Perry clearly seem to be ahead of him. To this point we’ve seen no mention of a meeting or visit with Grill, I wouldn’t stress too much.

Agreed. JJJ is the same in regards to his effort and that’s the main reason I don’t mind using a roster spot on him, especially if he can stay healthy. ORN is the opposite end, never know what effort you’re gonna get from him on a nightly basis.

I would rather move on. It's just too hard to play 4 on 5 on the offensive end. We have done it with this guy for most of the last four years. He did have that run during his junior year. Where did it go? What's bad is that I think it's completely mental for him. He just doesn't have the confidence to play offensive basketball yet does all the other things well.

He’s definitely a guy they targeted and locked in early on for sure
BTO talk me out of Ledlum being another Anosike... Anosike before he came to us averaged a double double and then came here and averaged like 2 & 2. Then leaves and goes to a decent Cal State team that made the tourney and averaged 16 & 8. These mid major guys just don't excite me as much.

I'm all in on the Caleb Mills train. He's that slasher, drive in the lane and go get a basket type of players we have been needing. I haven't kept up much with all of the potential portal players but he's one that I've had my eye on.

Indiana has Ledlum on campus today. Going to sell him playing with Ware.

Rumors they will be getting Ware today. They feel good about Ledlum, then they said they will push hard for Knecht to visit

lol could you imagine losing all of our targets to indiana

As I’ve posted I get the hesitancy of Ledlum, and I would be lying if I said I didn’t have some of those same doubts/questions as well, reality is we won’t know until it happens. I will say this…Anosike was the COVID year, preseason workouts and practices were severely limited and I wonder how that effected him adapting to this level of play. Ledlum is also 20lbs lighter than Anosike (at least) and so he should have a bit more quickness/mobility than Anosike did. I like the schools the are targeting Ledlum and pursuing him, it’s more impressive than those that did Anosike, so that’s another positive I look at is “are all these coaches wrong”? But again, won’t know until it happens.
