Oh, I agree IF we land another quality PG in the portal, AND Zeigler is healthy to start the season. Lots of ifs in that, though.

Ziegler gonna be ready imo. If he misses some time, it won’t be much. Dillione can easily be the primary ball handler if somehow both are the case. Watched him in person before.

They’re definitely the best school on the list. They’re still a smaller school however, so they need to take a chance. Not saying there’s attitude issues or anything, but an offer list like that tells you something is up.

- McKnight is apparently really close to pulling the trigger for Xavier.

- Girard is a no (Clemson, ND, BYU)

- Mills to Memphis

- Ike to Providence is imminent apparently

- Bates is focused on K-State and Mizz

- Aaron Estrada CB to Ole Miss

Well chit. I come to this thread to take my mind off the NCAA/football program situation and the way the basevols are playing only to find disappointment here, too. Surely Barnes won't go into another season without another proven PG to go with ZZ. Frustrating...very frustrating.

That we're gonna screw things up in the portal again this year while others fill needs and get better? Maybe Barnes will surprise us with a late push and we score big in the portal this year after all. Yeah...I know scoring big and Barnes is like oil and water. Gotta say that the excitement and hope I had for the portal is fading fast with Barnes running things.

Who you going after if Perry were to choose FL this weekend? Grill? McMillian? Maybe if we get lucky we can snag Dunn, but he seems like Auburn right now.

At this point, I expect Barnes to roll with Gainey and he manages to talk JJJ into returning. Let's be honest. Barnes coaching style won't appeal to everyone. You consider the players in the portal and what they're looking for and it's not hard coaching and defense, defense, defense. Most of them aren't needing "development" like HS seniors. Barnes just isn't made to excel in the portal. Might be that we just look at the portal the way we do the NCAAT. Hope for an alignment of the stars and a deep run but expect the same ol' same ol'.

Everyone stressing over the portal. We have some solid players for next year offensively. Carr, Jefferson, and Dilione should help. I honestly think they are going to be better than expected. Watching their highlights they seem like aggressive shot takers. I also think Estrella and Phillips will bring more to the table than most freshman bigs we are used to having. Now lets be clear i dont expect one and done talent. I just think they are going to be better than expected. Heres hoping anyways.
