Or maybe, just maybe, these coaches who are being paid millions of dollars are smarter than us?

It seems like the younger coaches like Heupel and Vitello have a good handle on the transfer portal and NIL deals while Barnes has been lacking in this area so far.

Everyone stressing over the portal. We have some solid players for next year offensively. Carr, Jefferson, and Dilione should help. I honestly think they are going to be better than expected. Watching their highlights they seem like aggressive shot takers. I also think Estrella and Phillips will bring more to the table than most freshman bigs we are used to having. Now lets be clear i dont expect one and done talent. I just think they are going to be better than expected. Heres hoping anyways.

I like the young guys we have, but I don’t think they are at the level of expecting to compete for a conference or national title, even if they’re better than expected. We need some at least 1 good guard and another good post and/or wing to make an instant impact if we want to have a chance at competing at the level we expect to next season.

It’s also possible that they’re getting recruited over during with the uber talented high school recruits. Bailey and Powell get more minutes to gel if Chandler and ZZ aren’t added. Anosike could have motivated the other interior players to step up their games to avoid sitting out. Mashack wouldn’t let Key have all of his minutes.

It’s a “lmao” situation when we’ve reached out to 5-6 guys better then them and couldn’t even get a visit.

Ledlum is good, the other two, not so much.

*Barnes to stud portal player that’s started all 4 years at previous stop*

“if you come work your ass off, you can be our starting PG” probably doesn’t sit right with most of the top guys

Guarantee if Barnes hits up a top portal PG and says “come be our starter next year, and you’ll have Nil opportunities” we would have our guy by now

The staff liked Mills, but they also knew Memphis had an inside track before he even entered the portal. He didn’t visit here as some have said, they were hopeful he’d make it out of Memphis visit and be willing to visit, but that didn’t happen, would’ve given some potential leverage with Perry. I’ve also heard that Knecht might be moving up the board, not sure if that’s related to them liking him over Ledlum or in addition to, but they like him. Again things are constantly moving and shifting but right now I’d say…

That’s a little different and you know that. Arkansas doesn’t even have a team, and I’m sure they are definitely actively pursuing all those guys, Muss is a piece of ****. Pushes guys out every year

I’m saying the 5-6 guys on that list you’ve posted, we should’ve gotten a visit from at least one of those dudes and we haven’t.

I actually liked the Powell get. He was just scared shitless playing for Barnes. Not a good fit but I think a decent player.

I guess I just always worry about depending too much on freshmen.

And injuries....don't forget the injuries. Those seem to be the norm with our programs. Better plan for one at the position you can least afford to have it happen. It's our way.

Suspect Barnes worked his magic on Key as well. Quite a change from early in the season to how he finished it.
