Get BHH and Fulky back and ppl will calm down a little bitRight now the focus appears to be on Aidoo, BHH and Tamba.
The staff is trying with Brooks but doesn’t seem likely, they will continue monitoring the portal and reaching out to bigs, Dante & Key are 2 names that have long been rumored that Tennessee would be in play for.
Fact is this could drag out awhile which I get everyone wants to know how the roster is going to look come October, just may be a bit.
Their saving grace is it’s a different head coach, he can try to claim he wanted to offer him all along...not saying that’ll be the case but it’s an easier sell than if the HC is the same.Gotta think that since it would be painfully obvious he’s plan C after losing Kessler and Brooks, that if they now finally offered that would rub him the wrong way.
I know you’ll suggest I’m overreacting and we should wait it out, but the constant kick in the balls that is Tennessee athletics seems to suggest that we are going to be left holding the bag...again.Right now the focus appears to be on Aidoo, BHH and Tamba.

I would disagree with you on Key. I would be curious to find out why his 3% fell so much this past season compared to his first 3 years, but as long as that's not something that sticks with him in his final year of eligibility, I think he'd be a good addition.I know you’ll suggest I’m overreacting and we should wait it out, but the constant kick in the balls that is Tennessee athletics seems to suggest that we are going to be left holding the bag...again.
At this point, our best case scenario is now Aidoo, BHH, and Tamba. Only one of those feels mildly certain, and he won’t help next year. Key doesn’t move the needle for me, at all, and at a position with a degree of depth, that’s all he really is...depth. Dante is coming off of a torn ACL. Brooks seems like a pipe dream.
The inability to attract an impact big man is as perplexing as our decision to slow-play some we may had a shot with (Gurley). I hate to suddenly be so woebegone with regards to staff decisions, but an unsettling pattern is starting to develop. Even if Fulk returns, it will really just suck if the best we can muster in this offseason is Powell (who I like a lot), Key, and Tamba.

If Fulky returns, I'd take that all day from a No. 2 big man. Sounds like a better rebounding version of what Pons gave us the last two years.Fwiw I’ve heard another name of a big that isn’t in the portal yet, wouldn’t be a game changer but would be a 1 year guy that could probably give 25mpg 6ppg 8rpg 2bpg
Part of that projection is what version of Fulk you are getting if he returns. You get the 2019-20 version of him, then I agree, it lessens the need, but doesn’t eliminate it. You get any other version and we’re in some trouble.I would disagree with you on Key. But I agree with pretty much everything else you say here.
If Fulky returns, I don't think the need for an instant impact big man transfer is as dire as some believe, but only getting Aidoo or Tamba would still be a disappointment IMO. BHH would be nice, but he's a one and done for sure I think. He doesn't help fix things for the future, whereas Aidoo and Tamba at least will probably stick around for 3-4 years. But those two don't give you a ton of help this year. You'd be counting on Uros or Nkamhoua to take a step forward this offseason, which isn't a guarantee by any stretch.
Getting a solid contributing piece for the frontcourt if Fulky returns should be the plan. If he doesn't...then UT better try and find SOMEONE who can at least rebound and is capable of protecting the rim to play the 4/5 to fill his spot. Otherwise...woof.
