Tennessee Vols Basketball Recruiting

Could use a multi-year PG but that might be covered in the 2022 class. Still need a grown ass hoss to knock heads and throw elbows in the paint.

White boy from auburn could be that long term PG. he was a high 3 star out of HS. But yeah, with santi finally shifting to SG and chandler being a 99.9% lock to the NBA, I see the need. I just don’t know how willing someone would be to ride the pine for a season while an NBA guy balls out for a season. It’s a lose-lose because he’ll be held to the same standard after.

With the addition of BHH, Barnes and his staff are starting to close the state borders a little bit.

I like seeing the homegrown Tennessee kids get scholarships. The Vols now have more international players on scholarship than Tennesseans. I know you need to get the best players regardless of where they are from, but for too many years some of the best instate players have gone elsewhere.

I wouldn’t discount potential scenarios where BHH gets some minutes at the 3, either.

Interesting. BHH says he is 6'-10" now. Imagine that front line with Fulky at the 4 and a seven footer at the 5. Yikes!

I read that Mashack is further along defensively than most freshmen. So I wouldn't count him out getting PT at the 3, either, given how much Barnes loves defense.

The only reason I ask is because I read he’s a Duke lock.
I’m sure their fans feel that way, that feel that way about anyone they want...with that said, I’m not saying we’re getting him, it was just a name I shared. My point was that names are still hitting the portal and there will be even more, there was no need to panic then or now.

I understand that.
