If you go watch video of BHH it's pretty obvious. He's a very skilled player, knows how to shoot and rebound, but makes a lot of mistakes that can be corrected with hard work and dedication. I think he showed some of each last year, but needed a good off-season to focus intently on becoming a great player, eliminating mistakes, and making it impossible for coach to take him off the floor. Instead he will be spending his time searching for a new home and get acquainted with yet another new team. Lack of continuity is going to keep him from being able to be the kind of producer he can be.It is interesting how BHH was regarded as a disappointment but nobody seems to criticize Mashack or Aidoo, who were also both highly touted. It's almost like every blue chip isn't ready from the jump and needs a year or two to further develop into that type of player.
Jw, but is Josiah considered a disappointment now?
Dom Campbell, DeAnte Green, Noah Clowney and Jalen Hood-Schifino are 4 guys that I think Tennessee very well could have landed had they made them priorities/made some promises too…would would we be better off with those 4 players than empty 4 spots and current targets? Interesting discussion that could be had.Yeah, I don't kean they would have taken 5 or 6 of them. I means, you have to draw the line somewhere. I just mean, individually, none of those kids were held off because we only had one spot. Recruiting doesn't work that way anymore.
Im pretty sure we went pretty hard after Hood-schifino the others not so muchDom Campbell, DeAnte Green, Noah Clowney and Jalen Hood-Schifino are 4 guys that I think Tennessee very well could have landed had they made them priorities/made some promises too…would would we be better off with those 4 players than empty 4 spots and current targets? I made a comment a year or two ago when they added the covid year to players and made it in reference to Fulk potentially breaking some UT records (hate that didn't happen) because of the additional year. Didn't really think through the impact it could have for a few NCAA records.Impressive, after 3 years he's 22nd on the NCAA D1 All time scorers list. He has one more + covid year available right? He could take down Pete.
I believe that preceded the Antoine Davis news ... not saying that AD will look at us, but it is something to consider.Rob Lewis said in the Volquest podcast today that he doesn’t really expect to go after anyone else in the portal. More likely the international route from here on out. Said Key,Phillips and Pack are the 3 main targets.
But he's on a terrible team in a pretty weak conference. Not sure he'll be that same level of scorer in a better conference.
This is my concern regarding mid/low-major transfers as well. Davis put up spectacular numbers at Detroit, but was on the court nearly the entire game jacking up 22 shots. Chandler, for referenced, averaged 11.5 shots and the two Vols with the highest MPG (Vescovi and Chandler) still clocked in at around six minutes less than Davis.
When you factor in the difference in competition night in and night out, I get a little skittish about someone like him. After all, compare Anosike's numbers before coming to Knoxville, on Tennessee and at Cal State Fullerton after transferring...
I think you’d agree that his ability to move, defend, pass, score, and fit in the offense all improved at the end of the season against some of the best conference teams. ORN going down is definitely not the demarcation point for the shift, but he was very important in KY 2 and 3, and played good minutes against Mississippi St., Auburn, and Arkansas. He was a deer in the headlights against Michigan, but he was definitely finding his place and his rhythm. How so? His season average was 12mpg 4ppg 3rpg, when Nkahmoua went down he started the next 13 games and his average was 16mpg 4ppg 3rpg?
