Tennessee Vols Basketball Recruiting

We’re in the same spot with Key’s shoulder, too. Now, he’s just a year guy, but - in today’s environment- seems like they’re all year guys.
I missed where Key was recently held out of games in the past month and wouldn’t work out when coaches visited? Key rehabbed his injury and took adequate time, we will see if he can return to form but he seems to be much further along than Clark who just had to be shut down.

Again, Clark is a headache and also has major injury concerns, people need to see more than just stars beside a guys name. Not every single 4 & 5 star is a fit for every single program.

This. Clark's work ethic and lack of willingness to compete are massive red flags and were a big reason UK didn't want him. Don't want him at all. Even if he just showed up and enrolled on his own I don't think he would last long here.

I just want Key to contribute more than Bailey did. A good 14-16 mpg and a solid ability to contribute offensively. I don't think he'll be one of our top 3 scorers, but if he's a guy that can give Santi more rest and we not see such a fall off then he'll be a great addition.

IF he's even better than that then we're going to be a really good team.

I think there's a lot of red flags, but I don't think work ethic is one. I'm pretty sure by all accounts he's been praised for his work ethic.

It is an interesting research project for someone to do on the psychology of "rankings" and people lack of ability to wash that from their thought process once alternate evidence shows something contrary.

I am interested to see how Barnes will ultimately do in the transfer portal and whether he will land Phillips. Doesn't seem that we have a great deal of momentum.

His career per 40 is 17.9ppg 5.4rpg 46%fg 51%2pt 37%3pt, if he can give us…

20mpg 9ppg 2.5rpg 45%fg 50%2pt 38%3pt that would be a massive W imo

That's where I see him being an upgrade. He's not going to bump Santi out of starting, and I doubt he sees more mpg than ZZ. If we land another proven true PG then Key will basically be a 6th/7th man type of player for us.

Which that role should be good for 20 mpg...Last year our 7th man in MPG was Uros/Powell at 14.1 a piece, but the year before it was Bailey at 24.8 mpg. That season Bailey gave us 10.9 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 1.6 apg, 40% FG, 49% 2PT, 34% 3PT. That's where I'd like to see Key for us.

Tennessee has some interest here, and a Rod Clark tie, not sure how hard they’ll push but some early interest.

Also, staff is out to see Tyrese Hunter today ahead of this weekends official visit.

Hunter. Now please. I've upped our offer to a million and a sports car of his choosing. Please let Barnes and Spyre know of. our offer.

I’m trying to decipher it, but looks like he actually played quite a bit of PG possibly for OKST.
Yeah watched him play actually a bunch. He had the ball in his hand a lot. Point forward type guy that gets after it on defense as well. I think it would fit what we need actually pretty well.
