Tennessee vs. Kentucky - Official Game thread - 9:00pm EST ESPN

So why are y'all still trolling?

You see, I'm not trolling, I post with respect to the people who post with respect to me, I've asked BPV to post with respect and he chooses not to, so he gets the troll treatment. So far you and Cotton have been respectfull so I'm returning the favor.

Why would that make you hate UK? If you lived in Kentucky as long as you did you would figure you would support UK, did you just not like the huge following they have, the color blue? What? because if you went to school at Vanderbilt you would figure the last thing you would follow would be UT basketball.

I'm not a UT fan because I went to Vandy; I was a UT fan long before I attended college, and my allegiance didn't change in my time there.

While I think the University of Kentucky is an asset to the state in many areas, I have a hard time finding any reason why I should support its athletic teams just because I live 10 miles north of the state line. The Wildcats have proven over my lifetime to be one of the dirtiest programs in the nation in both major sports, and their fans are the most arrogant and obnoxious that I have ever had the displeasure of knowing, perhaps deservedly so in basketball, but also inexplicably in football.

That's it in a nutshell.

I have been all over the country and you get that in most states except the ones that have professional teams. You can find that same ignorance no matter where you go.
UK fans aren't the only ones that are "insufferable", you should try going on UK's forum, there are trolls from UT, Florida, Minnesota, and whoever the cats are playing that week.

I've been to a UK forum and lurked on occasion. It did nothing to change my opinions.

UK fans might not be the only ones that are insufferable, but they are the ones I come in contact with on a daily basis.

Dirtiest? What makes you think that? I've never heard anyone refer to Uk as "dirty".
Man, you get obnoxious fans no matter where you go, heck, most of UK's fans are old timers and they don't have much to say at all. Have you ever attended a game in Rupp? The whole lower arena is bluehairs, it takes a lot of that homecourt advantage away.

I've always been a UK basketball fan, and a UT football fan........bear with me. Anyone who has followed sports for over 40 years knows that UK has never had a good football program who could compete with the top programs. In my lifetime they probably never will either. Until BP took over as UT basketball coach they were never a serious threat nationally, and I doubt they had as many fans as they do now. In Lexington, it was always "wait till basketball" and Knoxville said the same for football.

You were on probation in football in the 80s. You were on probation in basketball in the 90s. You were on probation in football in the 00s. That's a perfect record for the last three decades. It is basektball's turn again somewhere around 2011, I think.

Yes, I have attended several games in Rupp. And, although I'm sure the sets overlap, those aren't really the fans I am talking about. I'm talking about the fans that travel to the SEC tournament wearing sweats and spelling CATS wherever they are, and then never attend a game. I'm talking about the fans that gather at my local club on game night, cheer every missed freethrow from High Point, vocally boo every foul called on the Cats, and never, at any point, have any idea of the score. I'm talking about the fans that wore Celtic green after Pitino left, then couldn't really decide whether they still loved him after he joined the Cards, then cheered for Florida because Donovan played for Rick at Providence and greases his hair.

I assure you, you will find ignorant fans at any program, UK fans go all out to support UK but I haven't had the chance to see what you have seen. I think it's amazing that Kentucky fans travel the way they do, I have no idea how they do it. UK played in the Alaska shootout a number of years ago and thousands of fans were there to see them play, that's devotion right there.
The basketball probation was a terrible thing, Sutton shouldn't have been allowed to coach after that, yet he's thought of as a legend in college basketball., however I still don't think having diehard fans makes the program dirty and I don't recall the football program being put on probation in the 00's, what are you talking about there?

They're the worst at the SEC tournament. I went two years ago when we lost to LSU, and there was a group of super obnoxious UK fans that sat behind my wife and I. They told us that the only reason they were still there was so that they could cheer against UT. The best part was when the UT fans started the V-O-L-S go Vols go chant, the hick UK fan behind us (who actually was missing teeth) goes, "I bet the only reason they have that cheer is cuz they don't know how to spell Volunteers." It's not like you do the same thing with Cats, genius.

That is funny the way you tell/post it. But like I said, every team has those obnoxious fans, and I'm sure that makes you hate UK that much more but remember, if those were UT fans (some of them are missing teeth too), it wouldn't be as obnoxious to you, it would be funny. I went to a UT/UK game in 2000 at the TBA and got completely showered with ignorance, and it was even worse trying to get out of there, UT won the game and all the orange clad fans were pumped up, very few walked by me without a comment.

O.K., I do remember that now, I'm amazed at how far they have come since then. I just think "dirty" is a strong word for the mistakes of few.

Being on probation half of the time isn't the "mistakes of a few." Kentucky's track record of spending time in the NCAA doghouse is unrivaled by anybody outside of the states of Mississippi and Alabama. If they can't be labeled "dirty," nobody can.

Could you provide the link that shows the connection between Kiffin and the Bush situation? Everything reported stated that it was between Bush and his "agent".

the question: was he there? I found out he was,not saying any guilt, but I know Pete Carroll is a liar and I know Joe B Hall never knew of $100.00 handshakes and Eddie Sutton never heard of Emory Express and John Wooden didn't know Sam Gilbert was buying players. Hey, they know what is going on. T Martin got $, players didn't do their own work...a professor gets fired.
Bottom line, I would say the great majority are guilty of something. Uk has just proven to be dumber than most in getting caught.

I love it when people on my ignore list respond to my posts, particularly when I have told them they are on it. That act in itself is verification of why they belong there.

24...

and please brag about losing 6 games some more.

The beautiful thing about being able to say 24 to a Cat fan is it never gets old...because after next season the punchline will change. In 10 short months we'll be able to say 25...or even "quarter century" if we so choose...

Beautiful...
