We never are the team with more swagger - home or away. Not sure you can coach that but a Pearl team would never have played as flat as this at home. The crowd at TBA is totally dependent on the team firing them up - never works the other way.Disagree with both points, personally. We just had an off night. Sky isn’t falling.
I felt like Tobe played well, but yeah, this wasn't fun tonight.
Yes they should. We win that game comfortably if we make free throws and layups. On the road? A toss up game, but at home you have to win.Well, they never should have been double digit favorites over this team. I never for a second thought this would be a certain win. SC plays physical and wants a rock fight, we fell exactly into their plans.
Danny says we have an elite atmosphere, so trust him.Our crowd has no idea how to get in to the game. Sitting here watching the Ole Miss game. What a rowdy place. I know the shape of the gym and where fans are positioned in the stands has something to do with it, but on TV anyway we don't sound loud at all.
Their defense was legit in the sense that the refs swallowed their whistles all game. Tennessee would hold teams to under 50 every game if we got that kind of help from the refs.
The bigger issue for me officiating wise was Mack shoving all night and almost throwing an elbow and never getting called. Ultimately, they should ah e gotten the win based on the free throw opportunities they had and the missed bunnies.Yes. We know Tennessee missed shots they should have made. More concerning were the 5 phantom fouls in the second half (3 in 30 seconds). Each set of phantom fouls came as soon as Tennessee went on a run.
Those are some awful stats to have to digest.Team Overall
21-58 FG (36.2%)
5-21 3pt (23.8%)
12-20 FT (60.0%)
Team w/o Knecht
10-34 FG (29.4%)
2-13 3pt (15.4%)
6-10 FT (60.0%)
On our home court none the less. You are not beating many teams in the SEC with those percentages and contrary to many Knecht can't carry the entire team.
Agree 100%. This is the kind of loss that can keep you from securing the conference. Hope is not lost by any means, but dropping one at home def palpably hurts.
