Okay, say we manage to squeak our way in.
Do you still think Martin is the guy?

I say no, Martin should be able to comfortably make his way in with this team, but it looks like it will be another nail biter.

He finished higher than projected both his first two years. Won 19 and 20 games. If he gets to the NCAA this year so far his tenure has been successful. Not great but good.

Bruce left us in a bad situation when Martin came in. Real threats of sanctions and no one returning that had done anything of note. How people seem to forget these things is crazy.

Yeah, Bruce only left 5 4*'s that started the first season under Martin. Martin was mediocre when he got here and he will be mediocre when he leaves.

True. But most posters complaining know nothing about basketball and never liked Martin anyway.

Not only do I like CCM I have the upmost respect for him..,,and I'm loyal to a fault...,but if have lost ALMOST all confidence in his abilities as a coach.....pains me to say that.

bad loss.

it happens.

tennessee will get in.

that is all

So what if we do, good coaches with experienced teams don't play terrible basketball 10 times a year like this team is on track to do. Making the NCAA tournament is a nice accomplishment but if we barely get in it will be highly detrimental to the long term health of this program.

Tell us what seed we'll be then ol' Nostradamus.

Say UT does luck up and get in, should UT fans be content with the talent and experience on this team for just getting into the tourney? UT is one of the most experienced and talented teams in the SEC. Yet, they're in the exact same spot they have been in the last 2 years under Martin. Wondering what teams they need to beat to make it in and who they can't afford to lose to. Well, they just lost one of those last night to a sh*tball team that they didn't need to lose to.

We have road games at Missouri, Kentucky, Florida, Texas A&M, Auburn, Mississippi State, Vandy, and Georgia.

We need to win 4 of those games best chances are Auburn, Bama, Texas A&M we should be fired up for them, Mississippi State, Vandy, and Georgia. Just need 4 and 4 record winning five even better.

Home Ole Miss we usually play awful against them, Arkansas could go either way, Missouri, Florida will be tough even at home, Auburn, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, and Georgia. We don't need to lose any games at home already dug the hole playing there with losses the Texas A&M and NC State.

If we could win all the remaining home games and 4 on the road were definitely in. I don't know that we can. I expect losses at Missouri, Florida, and Kentucky. One or two more bad games like last night puts us on the bubble we'll see what happens.

If we can lose to a team like UTEP and at home to a team like A & M, there is no team left on the schedule that this coaching staff can't lose to. Plain and simple.

The inconsistency of this team over the past 3 years is completely unnacceptable. CCM's days are numbered.

Since gator has made a thread declaring UT will make the tourney, this would be a good place for everyone to make their predictions on where this team will be in March.

Here's mine. We'll be on the bubble yet again going into the SEC tourney. If we don't win some games in the SEC tourney we will not make it yet again. Just like the last 2 years.

Here, I can cover it all real quick:

Most think we will miss the tourney regardless of what happens.

A handful think we will get in, but are aware that more bad losses will greatly diminish our chances.

That's about it.

I'd rather miss the tourney this year and bring in a coach who can inspire confidence that we'll get there on a regular basis in the future. Just barely lucking into the tournament isn't going to get folks to board the Cuonzo bandwagon.

Bingo, can the madness now end?

So, give us your prediction. Anyone with half a brain knows that if we have many more of the losses to horrible teams we're done. We've already had 2. Now we're fighting back up hill. Where do you see us at the end of the regular season before the SEC tourney.

I'm thinking 19 and 11 going into the tourney. Right on the bubble needing to get the SEC finals or win the tourney to get in.

22-9 playing for seeding
