They drew two teams with really good point guards. If Byron Eaton doesn't execute them, Levance Fields almost certainly will.

It wasn't going to end good for them this year anyway. This draw just makes sure of it.

When will they have the gametimes up? I need to see if i have to call in sick.

Tennessee is very capable of beating Oklahoma State and Pitt. Will they put a couple of solid games together and get it done, I doubt it, but they are very capable. The matchup with Ok. St. is pretty much even. Pitt has two players and that's it.

I wouldn't pick UT's team from last year over this Pitt team, much less this year's version.

Well, as if the 8 seed wasn't bad enough.. Teh Dance is all about match-ups & Hat's right, we sure didn't get any favors from the committee. This is just about as tough a draw as we could get in the two first rounds.

LOL, wow. We couldn't beat MSU, how in the hell do we beat Pitt? Assuming we get to Pitt?

Levance Fields and Jermaine Dixon would be welcome additions to just about any team in the country. I'm assuming you are calling Blair and Young as Pitt's only two players.

Tyrell Biggs is no slouch either. Pitt will destroy Tennessee if given the chance.

I said they are capable. Meaning they have the talent to win. If Blair gets in foul trouble Pitt looks as bad as UT has at times. Pitt can not, consistently, knock down jumpers. Not saying the Vols can....but nobody is unbeatable. Not saying the Vols are favorites or supposed to win...because they're not. But they definately have a chance. I'd call it a 35% chance. Is that better?

35% chance? In what world?

I'd put our chances to beat Pitt at about 5%.

If you think we've got a 35% shot to beat Pitt, you need to hand over the pipe.

Sam Young, DeJuan Blair, and Levance Fields all have huge huge huge advantages on who we would have on them.

And thats with me barely knowing Pitt. I don't know about the rest of their team, but our chance is more like 5%

If Tennessee gets to Pitt, I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see a healthy Gilbert Brown hang 15-20 on UT.

eh i guess we should turn down the invite and give it to St. Marys since we wont make it past day one bc of mighty Ok state.

If we played Pitt 10 times we would beat them 3 times...at least. Let's worry about getting past Oklahoma State first.

wow. Don't hear that name often. A number of ACC schools went after him, but I haven't heard much of him at Pitt.

I was really impressed with his quickness when I went up to see Pitt against Seton Hall. I'll be shocked if he's not a 15 point a night scorer for them next year.

I would like our chances with Pitt--IF we had //last year's// team! That Vol team was a true up-tempo team that pressed, created turnovers, ran the court, made treys--just gave opponents problems with our pace and scoring. It would have been a very interesting matchup with a largely half-court team like Pitt. Unfortunately, this year's team does not create many turnovers, does not shoot the ball well and just isn't the same. Pitt is /very/ solid but hardly spectacular--they do not have a lot of scoring. But they are much sounder in most aspects of the game than UT.

...
What makes you think that?

Because anybody is beatable...seriously. Louisville is the only team with a #1 seed that actually won their conference tourney. North Carolina won one game in the ACC tourney without Lawson. Uconn and Pitt didn't win a game. Any team can get hot. West Virginia beat Pitt by 14 in Pitt's first game in the Big East Tournament. Can UT play with WV in the experts opinion here on VolNation?

OSU beat OU in the Big 12 tournament, OU is a #2 seed. UT better not look past them.
