Tennessee's Biggest Problem In Dayton.

I'm happier with pitt than the other 1s, but we're so far below the talent and execution level of any of them that it's hardly worth noting a preference.

Why would Smith come back if he's got any kind of a shot to play in Europe or the NBA? What is he coming back to? He will be with the same team that still can't spread the defense with an outside shot. Maze/Tabb/West at the point. Hall is the only improvement coming in and I don't think he will be a difference maker.

Tyler is 6'7" and is too small for the NBA at his position,,, he had all sorts of trouble yesterday and that is what he would face each and every night in the NBA. Until his shots get way better and way smoother he stays at UT or dies in the NBA developmental league... or in Turkey making cab fare.

Broyles, are you heading up to Dayton for the games? I'd love to meet you... same with you hat.

Guess what? He won't be playing in any of the NCAA tournament games.

Really? I think we all already knew that. I was referencing dyson not playing against Pitt. Your post has no logical reasoning to it as it doesn't pertain to anything about Pitt vs uconn.

I'm bummed about the game time 12:25, i will be at work, without access to internet, it's gonna suck. I wont even be able to check on my cell, i'm gonna have to ask my boss for updates.

I'm going to be on an airplane. I won't get updates at all:frown:

Hey guys I am new to this board, but I am not new to being a Vol fan,The games are played on the court not on paper. If Tennessee goes inside more against State and Chism does not fall completely in love with the 3 pointer again,This team has a chance:dance2:,I have followed them since the Eddie Test and Fisher point shaving fiasco in 1961 and I have seen a lot of ups and downs and I believe we are on the way up in both football and basketball. Mears was a good coach, but what could Pearl have done with Ernie and Bernie. As for football I am excited about the future.I saw my first game in 1953 and I have been a fan since I have never missed a South Carolina game and I have not missed a Kentucky game since 1977.I love the Vols.Remember Guys IF YOU WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN AND WALK THE STREETS OF GOLD YOU HAVE TO KNOW THE PASS WORD IS GO VOLS GO

Oklahoma state is an up tempo offense, gets to the foul line alot and coverts 75% of it's opportunities. Do they play a zone defense?

We play 2-3 Zone and man. It just depends. We played zone against ou and it worked for us. We are just really small as a team.

You're among those making the brilliant statement that UCONN would be a tougher matchup among number 1 seeds than Pitt. Those two teams, as they will be constituted for the NCAA Tournament, played twice. The Panthers handled them without a whole lot of difficulty both times. It's not really a tough concept.

That was hilarious. I enjoyed the fact that he stood there with the ball for about five seconds, and you could hear the wheels turning in his head - "Wow, I'm wide open. Should I shoot this? I suck at shooting, and coach may yell at me during the next timeout, but man, I really, really wanna shoot. I mean, B-Maze and Wheezy shoot the 3, it's not fair that I don't get to!", finally realized that no MSU player was going to contest the shot (and why should they?), then shot the ball with his feet firmly rooted to the floor, with virtually no arc, and somehow it goes in, and now he thinks he's a perimeter shooter.

prince wiil get all the 3's he wants to chunk up there , for as long as he wants . msu actually backed up to let him shoot

Pitt beat UConn both times this year while UConn had one Dyson out both games. He is one of their best players! We matchup so much better with Pitt (granted that we get to them) AJ Price would blow by Bobby and Tabb and look what Varnado did against us. He basically shut down our inside game and Thabeet is a much bigger game changer than he is. Fields for Pitt is a lot slower and we can stay with him as to where Wayne would have a much better game against Blair. The tourney is all about who you match up well with and if you think we match up better with UConn then ok. Thats your opinion and you are welcome to that.
Pitt is a lot slower team than UConn is.

i've got pitt winning it all.

I wish I could attend the game Friday morning, but can't. I had hoped to had stopped by and see UK/UNLV last night, but decided to pass after an exhausting day in Louisville. I have no interest in riding all the way back up to Dayton for Friday after getting home a couple of hours ago.

I know Pitt dominated UConn heads up but I can't help but think we would have zero shot against Thabeet. If the whole team shrivels up against Varnado, they would do the same against Thabeet.

Meanwhile, they wouldn't shoot 30% and be able to carve us up.

At least we will have a shot to get Blair in foul trouble and maybe put together a decent effort.

Varnado is better than Thabeet... all around. Thabeet will be better when he's a senior.... if he gets to that point. CAN we beat Okie St. and Pitt? Sure we can... will we? Probably not... let's wait and see what team shows up. :clapping:

My point was that Thabeet is pretty close to Varnado and UConn's other players are significantly better than Miss St
