If Russell struggles, they just plug Flynn or Perriloux in. I really think people underestimate LSU's depth of talent. I won't mention that Miles at least won the Peach Bowl instead of embarassing the conference by getting trounced by an ACC opponent.(vol_freak @ Jun 15 said:I'll bet the Peach Bowl Champions always have high expectations for the next season.
Russell is inconsistent and they have a lot of tough games on the road.

I just don't think UT has elite level talent right now.(LadyinOrange @ Jun 15 said:Nobody is arguing that Tennessee didn't stink last year. At least I'm not. I AM arguing that last season was an aberration brought on by discipline problems and a desperate need for a new offensive coordinator. Well, it looks like both problems have been taken care of, so what's stopping us from having a stellar year? Other than CPF ( before you say it)?
I agree Miles is no Saban, but he's no Gerry Di Nardo either.(vol_freak @ Jun 15 said:Flynn looked good last year but I bet he didn't have 50 attempts last year and Perriloux has 0.
They also lost a lot of starters last year. Their biggest problem is that all of these players have had one more year with Miles.
(LadyinOrange @ Jun 15 said:You know though, hat, I don't think it always takes elite level talent. Look at the '98 team. But, you could be right. I do know that no team is going to lay down just so we can have a better season.
(tarvol23 @ Jun 15 said:I get so sick of the whole last year was an anomaly, perfect storm, blah,blah,blah.... I saw the same brand of football that I have seen the last 6-7 years; uninterested, undisciplined train wreck of a team. The only difference in last year, was that the vols got some really bad breaks, some forced and some self inflicted. Fulmer has won games by "hook-n-crook" for years and gotten much cred for his winning % and last year it all dried up.
There is no such thing as an SEC regular season championship. The championship game is a regular season game. The winner of that game is the only SEC champion.(therickbol @ Jun 15 said:Umm, you know within that '6-7 year' window you just mentioned was a share of the SEC regular season crown in what was suppose to be a somewhat down year. Not saying there havent been signs of trouble dating back to 7 years ago, but you cant just group the whole last 7 years together and say they have all been uninterested undisciplined blah blah blah. Its just simply not true as a blanket statement.
