Terrance Coleman DT

I don't think that this kid can carry enough weight to play DT. He looks like a linebacker, but if they can transform Marlon Walls into a tackle I guess it's possible.

He's 6'2 260 and Rivals currently lists him as a strongside DE. His uncle Antonio was a beast of a DE in college... last year.

Exactly what is the story with Coleman? He signed with Auburn in 09 right? I'm assuming he didn't qualify and had to go Juco. So, is he not considering Auburn now? Surprising considering he signed there and had an uncle play there and now it looks like he might commit to UT. Works for me, but seems a little odd. Is Auburn not offering him this time?

Yeah he signed after a rather drawn out recruiting process then didn't qualify. Not sure if Auburn would still take him and for what it's worth Terrance never seemed completely sold on Auburn the first go around. I think it was more the fact that Antonio, who basically raised him, was there.

UT is his best offer, isn't it? Unless Kentucky has surpassed us. Maybe we will get him.

I took a visit up there in high school and I was fixing to go there and then the day before (signing day) I changed my mind to Auburn," Coleman said. "When I went up there I liked the campus and the surroundings and everything that goes on up there."

Being in constant contact with Lance Thompson has helped the Vols case since he's landed at Copiah-Lincoln

"He is saying I can come down and play and I fit their defense. Sometimes their ends are dropping (in pass coverage) and coach said I could play outside linebacker, too," Coleman said.

"A school that wants me, a school that really wants me (is important). I'm going to the school that wants me the most and offers playing time," Coleman offered.

Says he will possibly be here for the Alabama on an unofficial & will return in December for a OV, he also plans on being an EE.

This was also in the article

Coleman will have three years to play two and is planning on being done in December so he can enroll early at the college he chooses.

:good!:

I hate to be negative about anyone the coaches like but Terrance Coleman is not worth the headaches. I followed his recruitment out of high school and he is just not good enough to justify the antics. I'm hoping he is a backup plan.

I tend to agree. The fact that they stopped recruiting him and are now re-recruiting him makes me think they just aren't in good shape with guys they had higher on the board.

Don't think so-- too light -- in the 240's as best I remember unless he has put on a lot of weight as a JUCO, which I guess is possible. Probably a DE or OLB, although a bit slow for OLB.

mlsoft

He's labeled as a DT in the thread title is he not?
