His one "good" class only had 1 OL. Should of seen the problem coming you sign over 30 kids and there's only one big ugly.
Exactly. The bottom line is Fulmer recruited awful his last few years and now Tennessee is paying for it. You never go an entire recruiting class and sign 1 offensive lineman, especially when you recruited poorly on the OLine the year before that.
In 06, 07, and 08 Fulmer signed the following OL (according to Rivals):
4*: McClendon (06), Myers (06), Johnson (06), Sawtelle (07), Douglas (08)
3*: Pope (06), Anderson (08), Bailey (08), Thomas (08)
It looks like talent evaluation, attrition, and player development were more of an issue than just pure numbers
Granted...even with those numbers...to only sign one OL in a year that your tearing it up in recruiting definitely stands out

the one Gordon got torched on or the one Anderson got torched on haha?
He also cost us a touchdown on that first bomb UAB threw.
Um... Actually that would have been Anthony Anderson's inability to actually nut up and make a play on the ball. It would have taken a great play, but that ball could have and should have been intercepted. But then again Anderson is not a great player. Great players make plays.
Anderson wasn't meant to be in single coverage on that play, which is probably why he let the receiver behind him. Now, that said, Anderson made a piss poor attempt on the ball.
