It would be great to land this recruit. He says he insists on playing basketball too. He is a four star basketball recruit so it wouldn't be a bad deal. We need to get Pearl and Cutcliffe to do their magic!

I would say slim. It may go up if he visits. At this point, I think we may make his top 5, but it is just a matter of time before he drops us.

Would it even be in the realm of possibility that Fulmer and Pearl make a trip up TOGETHER to see this kid?

He says that he doesnt really care on the prestige of the basketball program and he could settle for a subpar basketball team.

I bet he ends up focusing on one sport. If the guy is REALLY good, there is to much money at stake to not focus on one.

I thought it said #50 in bball in another post. But anyway, even if he says he wants to play both, do you think a head football coach would allow him, or encourage him to do so? What starting QB for a nationally competitive program also played another major sport? When's the last time a prominent athlete played 2 major sports in college?

Julius Peppers?
Tony Gonzalez?

My point is, it doesn't happen much and doesn't seem likely, no matter how good he is at both.

The last one that I can think of is Matt Jones from Arkansas. Played QB in football but also played basketball. May not be the best example but he did play both sports for a D1 school.

Matt was a freak, crazy fast and big, maybe he would have been a better qb if he had only concentrated on that
