Happy for Terry and the program, but I ain't gonna lie I hoping it was Al Wilson. Al in that lockerroom and in the Defensive huddles with all his energy and attitude that guy was awesome.

He doesnt have a degree he cant be a grad asst

Big. The secondary and recruiting just improved significantly.

Smart move by Jones.

So does a GA get paid, or is like an intern position where they are there to learn?

A GA gets tuition and books - and that's pretty much it. There's usually the residual stuff from being associated with the program like training table, swag/gear, etc. But it's not a paying position and the 'student' does have to at least give the impression of attending class.

Usually being a GA at a program like Tennessee is pretty much a guarantee that the next step is a full-time position somewhere, so for that reason it makes sense.

Finally we do have a coach.....that gets it! Involving former players, hiring Fair, etc. About time.

Terry Fair and Deon Grant are my two favorite DBs from TNs decade long run.

TF's one-handed interdeption against Florida. And DG's 3 int game vs Auburn--still iconic plays.

I have NEVER heard Neyland louder than I did when DG picked off the first pass of the game and ran it back for a TD.

Welcome back, TF! Good to have Tennessee blood in the ranks.

Why does everyone think he going to be an asset in recruiting? What has he done to make you think he's going to be a good recruiter? Glad to have him on board but I don't see it being that big of a deal when it comes to recruiting. Jmo. GBO!

He's a good communicator that can start sentences with "when we won the SEC championship....." And "when I got drafted in the first round...." and "During my NFL career...."

They also get a monthly stipend however much that is decided between him and the coach/school

Who the heck is Terry Fair?

You're kidding right??
