Why does everyone think he going to be an asset in recruiting? What has he done to make you think he's going to be a good recruiter? Glad to have him on board but I don't see it being that big of a deal when it comes to recruiting. Jmo. GBO!

He's a clean, articulate black guy?

Welcome back Terry Fair! Wow, secondary being coached by CWM and CTF. Also will help wIth recruiting just by walking in homes and dads knowing all about him. They will remember him being a star at UT and being a first round pick!

Why would you want to trash up this board by posting a picture of him here....oh I get it...that's why!!!! Now if you have a life or death decision to be made WHO WOULD YOU RATHER MAKE IT...Biden or Cheney....One very intelligent....one...well not so brite....ok...back to sports...Great hire getting TF to come over...

wow. are u a douchebag?

Just looked him up on Wiki and he played for Tennessee when I was like 10.

Sorry, that instead of studying CB film, I was playing with GI Joes when I was 10.

I'm in the same boat as you bro. I was like 7 when he played there. I had to look him up also  doesn't mean we aren't VFL, just means we aren't 50.:salute:

I don't think he can go on the road unless one of the coache stays at home.

really? I remember lots of UT players and games from when I was 10.

he played for the SEC champ in 1997. All-SEC twice. He played in the NFL until 2005. Even if you didn't know all that you probably could have put together that he is a former UT player based on the other posts in this thread.

I get that his name and history will help in opening recruiting doors for some dads, primarily those who are Tennessee fans. But as one of our members (age 20) has already shown, youngsters don't know Terry Fair from the State Fair. Also have to wonder why everyone is so sold on him being a good coach. Has he ever coached at any level?

he's a GA, he doesn't need to be a top flight coach

Everyone starts somewhere. Who knew that Tee Martin was going to end up being a good recruiter? Same for Jay Graham. Coaching staffs take a chance on what and who they see, and fortunately for them, it worked out. No reason to feel like it won't (at this point) for Fair, either. Give him a chance.

I figured he was a former Vol but didn't watch to many Lions or Rams games. It's cool and all that Jones is bringing back veterans from our past but like others have said, not sure how it's going to help our recruiting and whatnot unless he's just trying to help him get his coaching career started.

Most kids that play college football would love to go to the next level to play in the NFL. TF can tell the kids what to expect from the experiences that he has had not only in college but also after he was drafted in the first round for the NFL.
Any coach that has played or coached in the NFL is a great selling point for recruits and players.

Instead of asking an ignorant question and then searching, do some homework first and save yourself the abuse.
