I don't necessarily disagree with you but provide for the common defense is constitutionally mandated. It doesn't say only efficient, common sense defense be provided.

And that's covered with current tech and there was no need to go to Iraq or Afghanistan (debatable, I guess). All of which makes the small subsidies to Tesla or Obamacare look like small drops of water in the ocean.

Of course. New Jersey, Michigan, now Georgia... I'm sure there are others I've missed and some that are also considering it.

what i found interesting is that there is already a store open here in ATL, so not sure what the problem is

Really isn't relevant to the discussion at hand. Tesla isn't some "fake" green company, they're real and have real potential to create an affordable car using an alternative energy source than gasoline or diesel fuel.

I get that you won't be alive when the world runs out of oil and that you deny climate change exacerbated by humans, but your children and my children will be alive to see the effects of this. The sooner we solve these problems, the better.

Your children's grandchildren won't be alive when we run out of oil. We have atleast 300 years before that happens.

You should do some research on electric vehicles, or are you thinking about hydrogen?

Hydrogen is more of a bomb than electric is. With the cheap plastic that the cars are made of, a rear end collision can mess with batteries that could be corroding already with the heat. Any kind of spark to battery acid will make a fire bomb.

Maybe valid points, but its not like ICE autos don't catch fire.

Highway vehicle fires by year

BS. Conservative estimates put us at 80% expenditure between 2050-2100, it could be sooner if consumption increases at all.

That was my point.

All forms of transportation carry a risk.

Peak oil was already suppose to happen.

The best evidence I've seen for peak oil is the fact that Saudi has started using off-shore drill rigs. If oil was still plentiful, why would they go to a more expensive form of extraction? So, we may already be at the peak cheap oil point.

Yes. Nikolai Tesla. What did he do?

He's only the most underrated and under-appreciated minds of all time. Gave us the concepts for 3 phase power, wireless communication, inventor of the radio, and was working on a way to wirelessly transmit power before J.P. Morgan pulled funding because he didn't plan on creating a method to meter the power transmitted.

And, had he not been screwed by J.P. Morgan, Westinghouse, and G.E. He would have been the worlds only trillionaire

After Tesla Megapack Battery Burst into Flames, it took 150 Firefighters to Put Fire Out

A giant Tesla battery pack caught on fire at a building in Australia, and it took 150 firefighters and four days to contain the blaze.

More than 30 fire trucks responded to an electricity storage facility near Moorabool on Friday where they found a Tesla Megapack, a 13-ton lithium battery, engulfed in flames, according to the Country Fire Authority.

The firefighters worked to extinguish the fire from the battery, which was in a shipping container, and prevent it from spreading to other batteries in the facility. Officials issued a toxic smoke warning to nearby communities that was downgraded Sunday.

After four days of battling the blaze, the CFA said it had the fire under control Monday.
