Texas A&M coming to the SEC????

A&M is seriously considering the move. they probably will have a choice made by the end of this year wether or not they are going to move to the SEC or stay in the sip 10. It shouldnt even be that hard to think about. There is stability in the SEC, where as in the sip 10 there is not. A&M would grow so much bigger as a program in the SEC. it works out best for the SEC and A&M to join together.

humm..Not sure i would say that. we are going to expand eventually and A'M and one other is quite possible.

I'm not discounting it, just saying it won't happen before Santos commits - whether to us or A&M. Personally, I would love to see them join the SEC.

I agree with Texas Aggie. If we played in Texas every couple or few years, then it would only help in recruiting. We would get more exposure and more guys from TX would be willing to give us a visit, and when that happens, Dooley and Sirmon can close.

low blow, but we are on the way to being the program we were in the late 80's and 90's

Who cares about recruits. It's all about the Benjamins! Bringing in A&M brings in the Dallas/Ft. Worth, San Antonio, and Houston media markets. That's a lot of extra $$$ to split amongst the member schools once the TV deal is renegotiated!

Having another top tier team in the SEC could be a bad thing... whats gonna happen when a kid from Texas wants to play in the SEC? He's gonna play at A&M because theyll be local and in the SEC.. It just brings more competition for us to recruit against. jmo.. :ermm:

I agree. The SEC is tough enough as is.

How about this, we will take Dalton and you guys can have McNeill. A&M already has 2 of the top 3 Safeties from the state this year, and got the top Safety last year, so we dont need McNeill that bad, even though he is the top Safety in the state this year.

Throw in a bag of potato chips, and you might just have a deal.

Texas A&M might not be a top tier program but they would still be pretty good competition, kind of like an Arkansas or South Carolina. I wouldn't really mind if the Aggies joined the SEC but then we would have to add another team to even it out.

I personally think A&M is a sleeping giant... A move to the SEC could totally awaken them.

A&M has way more tradition than Arkansas and South Carolina.

i always compared A&M to Auburn. Not the biggest program in the state, but still has way more tradition then 90% of the other schools in the country. Only problem is A&M got caught cheating and Auburn hasnt got caught yet.

If there is any justice in this world, they will. Maybe the story Yahoo is "sitting" on is their deathblow.

Santos looks like a kid who would be on Friday Night Lights.

Fine with me bring them in, I already don't like the aggies so they fit right in with the rest of the sec teams!

And?

We have loads of tradition. Isn't going to stop SC or Arky from rubbing our faces in it this year.

And, in the long run A&M is a much bigger threat than either of those schools. When Petrino stabs Arky in the back and Spurrier retires, what do they have?

I seriously doubt that SC comes to Neyland and rubs our faces in it this year, jmo.

I agree with you that A&M would be a better addition.

As for SC, they have a bye week while we are in the midst of of our October death march. Spurrier's record after a bye is very good. Stopping Lattimore isn't likely to happen. I don't much like our chances.

Once A&M joins the SEC, it will take them a few years to get established and go threw some growing pains with 7-8 win seasons, but once we get the SEC style DT's we should be set

It has a lot to do with how our offense is playing, as well. We could very well lose, I just don't think it will be anything convincing.

Santos would help...with Lattimore...in 2012...
