Texas A&M coming to the SEC????

I tend to agree, but it'll be interesting to see what happens.

I can see an independent Texas playing a pathetic schedule and undeserving making BCS games every year, honestly.

Texas has done everything in their power to make their path to a BCS game as easy as possible. Mack Brown has stated publicly his disdain for a CCG.

wrong. in the 90's all the top kids were going to A&M, then tu got Mack and RC started to decline. A&M used to be the go to school in the 90's. now texas is the go to school. it will change soon enough though.
Has A&M ever consistenly outrecruited Texas without going on probation shortly after?

they'd likely fall under notre dame's rule of an 8 or higher ranking in the final bcs would get them an automatic bid in a BCS game were they to go independent

(money wise, the independent teams get treated as their own individual conferences pretty much)

Also....you are aware that in the last decade notre dame's been to 3 BCS bowls along with another 10 win season, right? They had a rough patch due to some poor hirings, but theyre hardly tailing off, especially because of their independent status

(NOTE: pointing out that independence being a long term hindrance to a school is incorrect;.....not that "omg notre dame is the best team ever and I want to marry them!")

(and if that's tailing off for you...I really don't want to hear you talk about our last decade)

Fair point on the last decade. My main point is that ND and Texas aren't equal. Texas has burned many bridges in all of this. I've kept up with this way more than a Vol fan should. The new contract with ESPN is just another example. Right now the new LHN is touting themselves as the only place to see the Texas vs. Rice game. TTU has already turned them down with the statement TTU fans will never pay a dollar to Texas. I'm sure they may get KSU or someone like that to take the deal, but nobody is exactly happy about it.

It shouldn't, unless you're a delusional Aggie fan.

They have no shot at becoming top dog in that state.
