Texas A&M coming to the SEC????

Also....you are aware that in the last decade notre dame's been to 3 BCS bowls along with another 10 win season, right? They had a rough patch due to some poor hirings, but theyre hardly tailing off, especially because of their independent status

(NOTE: pointing out that independence being a long term hindrance to a school is incorrect;.....not that "omg notre dame is the best team ever and I want to marry them!")

(and if that's tailing off for you...I really don't want to hear you talk about our last decade)

Notre Dame lost all 3 of those games...By blowout margins in fact and the record they took into those games was 9-3, 9-3 and 10-3...They have a clause that if they win so many games they are guaranteed a BCS spot.

ND has to finish in the top-8 to get an automatic berth

It's not a great move for anyone... Except the people counting TV dollars. Why any fan would support this is beyond retarded.

Dennis Dodd with CBS sportsline was on wake Up zone 104.5 nashville and said that it was more than likely going to happen and probably be announced by the end of this month for the official move in 2013.

As a fan, I count TV dollars. I want my school to make as much money as possible. Beyond that, I still don't see any downside. It's better for competition, it's better for recruiting, and it's better for $$$.

Ok so who else does the SEC pickup to even it out?...I don't see grabbing any of the ACC schools....Maybe grab a big east school since they are in a crummy conference....Maybe WVU?

:eek:lol: They going to to lower your season tickets or something? Or just pay the Assistant Special Teams coach a couple hundred thousand more, and buy a few more recruiting services?

If you don't care about your program making money, you're a fool.

They make plenty. If they Boise States budget, I would agree.

In the modern world of college sports, every dollar counts. And not just for football. I want Bama's football team to make ridiculous amounts of money so that Bama's baseball, softball, gymnastics, etc receive more funding.

Why is everyone so pumped up about tamu?

1. Gets us into Texas markets which increases $ per school.

2. Adds a tradition-riched program to the conference that isn't an annual super-power. Doesn't necessarily hurt UT.

3. Gives me a good reason to go see a game at Kyle Field one day.

4. Gives the conference a leg up in the race to 16 teams, which is the inevitable end of this like it or not.

5. Gives the bird to Texas, Pac 12, the not quite Big 12, and the Big 10+2.

Yea, sorry if I don't care. I'd rather keep the Third Saturday than have the gymnastics team be able to take private planes around the country.

No reason we can't keep the Rivalry Formerly Played on the Third Saturday in October and make ridiculous jack at the same time.

Depending on who the 14th team is, I could see the SEC realigning divisions not based on geography and/or play a 9th conference game.

I will change my opinion if we can add FSU. Just not impressed at all with aTm and their "TV Dollars"

Can't see why you would view FSU as a better addition than A&M. Either one is a little brother in their respective states, but at least with A&M we don't already have big brother.
