Texas A&M/SEC megamerge thread extravaganza

Rofl at all the angst over what is surely going to happen anyways no matter what conference kicks off the moves first. Why not just whine about why now? That would be more appropriate. It's good for us because we are TAKING the 1st draft picks and not dryer lint afterwards.

That program has about a 20 year tradition and brings very little market share.

Mizzou is the logical choice with 2 major TV markets in the middle of the country. Missouri also borders three conference states which could produce new natural rivalries in football amd basketball. And for the first time in conference history we would finally have a decent team that wears black and gold.

False. I've explained this many times, I'm not going into it again.

Try once more.

Everything Liucci has said in this entire process has been money. If he's saying tomorrow is the day, then I believe it.

Who is casting the vote for UT?

Yesterday Jimmy Cheek said he's against expansion (or rather, he's for keeping the SEC at 12 teams).

According to several Texas A&M fans, the SEC presidents are currently in Atlanta for the big vote. These guys know how to dig stuff up too! They were able to locate all of the SEC charter planes coming into ATL.

Mentioned in the "As it stands currently" post. The meeting is expected to conclude at around 8:30. They've discovered this because the planes are set to depart at 7:30 CST. Incredible that these Aggie fans are so adamant about knowing soon, that they've gone as far as to attempt to track every University flight to and from Atlanta.

As I've said, the guy that owns TexAgs (Liucci) is well connected to A&M insiders. He rarely posts on TexAgs...but when he does it is something of significance.

You have no idea how many flights over the years have been tracked and reported on TexAgs. Hey, we have our own airport!

Texags is a site in full desperation. They're anxious to get this over with. I can't blame them.

This is coming from the Aggies Scout board:

:The Presidents meeting is confirmed as being reported all over and
we expect the vote to be 11-0-1 with Vanderbilt pulling the whole
private school abstain. When we find out information on this myself
or one of our posters will be letting everyone know. We did get
information that our band was put on notice Saturday to be ready for
a big press conference for the window of Tues-Thursday so an
official press conference could be as early as tomorrow and as late
as Thursday. There is talk of both, nothing official scheduled, but
I would guess tomorrow based on what is taking place if I am pinned
down. But Lord knows I was crucified for being off 12 hours the last
time."

I thought most schools wanted to stay at 12. What schools are voting yes for this?

I still think approval is inevitable, but I'll say this, the longer this meeting goes, the worse it is for A&M.

Apparently, the meeting is over. A&M fans are expecting something by the 10:00 CT news hour.
