Texas A&M to name Mark Stoops new head coach? Nope

Ok so 7-5. The point is that he is 3-4 mediocre/bad years from even being near a hot seat. So he’s still banking close to $9 million a year to win 6-8 games
Exactly. He is 6-10 in the SEC the last 2 years but wins their easy non conference schedule to get a winning record. Most KY fans are fine with that. See LittleCat’s comments on this site, he thinks Stoops is great. So why not stay and collect $9 mil a year with little pressure. If they fire him, he will have plenty of money to go to a lake or beach house for the rest of his life.

I don't understand why Stoops is staying..... If he was smart he would have left a few years ago. There's no upside to staying, he peaked 3 years ago. Done as much as he could do at KY already. He must love it there.

Unless he wanted a giant payout, he'd be dumb to go to TAMU because he wouldn't last 3 years.

Solid pick. Stoops did more with less than just about anyone else in the SEC. He should do better with A&M resources

I don't think so. He's done well at UK but he's also inflated his record by beating up on cupcakes. He's beaten Florida, that's about his best accomplishment. He has sucked against UT and the 2 times he's beaten them, they were the worst UT teams in modern history (and one of them he barely did).

After all these years his teams are still increcibly bad at self-inflicted mistakes and his clock management is some of the worst I've ever seen. TAMU would be clowns to bring him in because he's not doing any better and probably would do worse.

You can dig through my posts and find plenty of criticism I have for Stoops. I've never understood you dunderhead UT fans thinking you are so clever by going "oh, but the schedule and blah blah blah". As if that invalidates the context of what Stoops has done. UK is not a football school. Has no business winning 2 or 3 games a year in the SEC. The only school I grew up expecting to beat every year was Vandy, and even then they beat us plenty. If you look at the entire 11 year stretch, he's exceeded expectations. No argument about it. Not sure what the man would have to do to get some credit from fans who have zero awareness of what the program was like on the inside. This isn't UT, Bama, or UGA, where there are clear inherent advantages those schools have built into them. Ignorant post by you.

Did A&M hire John Currie as AD? 🤣 They are beginning to look like a football bat. I love it!

They hired Ole Miss’s former AD, who hired Matt Luke at Ole Miss. He’s not a good AD.

Unfortunately every SEC team does that.

UK is a cupcake historically. If he consistently beats cupcakes, and has gone 4-7 against UF (a program with infinitely more resources than he's got), then he's doing a great job there. They used to be a cupcake themselves and aren't really one anymore.

The only legit knock on Stoops's performance at UK is his 2-9 record against us as they've had one of the best periods in their history and we've had one of the worst periods in our history.
