Not sure what you are talking about. The picture of Cruz walking through the airport in a short sleeve shirt, while his whole state is frozen and without power, is not an optic that he is going to live down any time soon. In the past, Cruz has exploited similar opportunities to pounce on his political rivals. It's fair game.Trying to tie the two together is something El or Luth would do. I thought you were above this. The last sentence is dead on, but the rest is trash.
No one will care in a few weeks. Not sure what you are talking about. It's not a matter of anyone caring. To the extent that he can do anything to help the predicament his state is facing... nobody cares now. It is, however, fodder for his political rivals to use against him in the future... and they will (and so would he, if one of his opponents did the same thing). Politicians are defined by how they conduct themselves during a time of crisis. Cruz's poor judgement and lack of self-awareness matters. No one will care in a few weeks.
So you are telling me politicians are hypocrites...... first I have heard of such a thing. Not sure what you are talking about. Lol. It was stupid but won't be remembered by anyone other than people that would never vote for him anyways. Just like Pelosi. It's not a matter of anyone caring. You are comparing someone who left town because he had the ability to someone who locked down their constituents and then done exactly what they prevented others from doing. Not sure what you are talking about. For reference on “portable” diesel generators. The largest installed generator available from Cat. 4MW... a tad short. 2000 of these could backfill the wind turbines. And these aren’t portable.

I wasn't talking exclusively about Ted Cruz's admonishment of Mayor Stephen Adler. Cruz also criticized his 2016 Republican Party primary opponent, then-New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, for taking a day at the beach after having shut beaches down. Cruz derisively told Christie to "go back to the beach".You are comparing someone who left town because he had the ability to someone who locked down their constituents and then done exactly what they prevented others from doing.
Do you really believe those are close to the same? I could give a rats ass about Cruz, but that is about stupid.

Obviously, Cruz doesn't have the authority to order a lockdown, but he has given advice to his constituents that he didn't follow himself. He has also spoken about the importance of a government leader giving constituents their full attention during a time of crisis. He was once critical of Barack Obama for playing golf during the H1N1 pandemic. Any way you slice it, Cruz has been hypocritical. He seems to get it now. Cruz has admitted that the Cancun excursion was a mistake.
It's amazing BB thinks the outrage will last. Didn't Cruz just get reelected? In three years, no one will care about this or even remember it. Mostly because he's a federal official, not a state officialThere is a difference between issuing stay at home orders/closing things down then violating your own orders and taking a vacation during a winter storm.
Cruz has done more than that. As I alluded to, Cruz was critical of Barack Obama for playing golf during a similar crisis, because in Cruz's own words, "a government leader should be giving his constituents his full attention during a time of crisis". Taking off to Cancun is hardly giving constituents your full attention. Cruz was caught being hypocritical. Is it a big revelation that a United States Senator is a hypocrite? Of course not... but it is still fair to point out the hypocrisy whenever it is THIS obvious. There is a difference between issuing stay at home orders/closing things down then violating your own orders and taking a vacation during a winter storm.

And again, we get back to Cruz's criticism of Barack Obama for playing golf during a pandemic - obviously, Obama was not a state official. Cruz's naked hypocrisy has been exposed. It's amazing BB thinks the outrage will last. Didn't Cruz just get reelected? In three years, no one will care about this or even remember it. It wasn't an order that Cruz was being critical of. Cruz's criticism of Obama centered around Obama taking some leisure time during a public crisis... which is what Cruz was exposed for doing himself. It's borderline hypocrisy since Cruz literally has no power or authority to affect the situation.
Cruz wasn't being critical of Obama for violating his own executive order. He was critical of Obama for the act of taking personal leisure time during a time of crisis for his constituents... which is exactly what Cruz was just exposed for doing himself.Did Obama have the power and authority to do something during that crisis?
You do understand the differences between a Senator and Chief Executive don't you?
