Texas hires Herman just now reported

his is between 3-4 million

Same question applies. Is that real?!

As a HC he's got a lousy record like 21-29?

As an "interim" HC (playing with house money) he has a winning record.

Still say LSU downgraded. Les is a nice guy and probably likes Ogre which is about all I can think of why we haven't got media reports of him being admitted to the hospital for laughing himself to death.

You've gone full in with this "bidding war" narrative, haven't you? You were never in this! Blame the mean shady agents for not getting the guy you were taking a flyer on, if you like. As soon as Texas wanted him, you were out of it. Maybe the potential reality of having Aranda ripped out from under you has poured a little salt on the blister

I'm not sure what you are angry about, yes you seem angry.

As I mentioned earlier in the week, the offers where on the table for Herman and Jimbo for some time, LSU was not going to get into a bidding war... agents for both Jimbo and Herman wanted a bidding war. LSU left the table. Its not complex, and certainly nothing for you go postal about on a forum.

To be honest, I have no idea what you are raging about. LSU had offers, they were open to counters to a degree but Herman was more or less a take it or leave it deal.

lol and now we are back to the "anger" retorts again.

Do you do stand up somewhere? That would be a hoot of a show I'm sure

Who else is going to pay that kind of money, let alone with the limited resume he has? I'm not sure why Texas paid him what they did, Herman had no leverage... he tried to product the leverage by getting LSU in a bidding war which they never had any intention of doing.

Aren't you paying 3 million for a guy with a losing record who has been fired by Ole Miss? But you bring up Herman' s resume lol.

LSU upgraded and Texas took a gamble like they did with Strong. Money doesn't always buy you a Saban.

I'm not paying anything. Herman wanted Saban money. I guess that makes sense to you.

I'm not a big fan of throwing money at a small school coach that had short term success. Texas hasn't learned that lesson yet.

I am kind of split on it. I think he's worth the risk depending on the costs. Basically, he wanted near Saban funds.... and that was before Texas entered the mix. So, even if LSU continued with what this fellow wanted.... it was still no guarantee wasting even more time for what could amount to Saban plus $1m, who knows. At that point, why not just deed half the Bayou State over to Jimbo.

Generally I agree with you.

I am not a fan of throwing big money at a coach who just finished 3rd in the American Conferences Western Division.

Not mad at all. You're upset and projecting. You presented a take it or leave it deal to a guy who was waiting for Texas. Acting like LSU was just refusing to be a pawn is disingenuous. He didn't want you. No shame and you're still in a better position than my team. So quit SPINNING me as an anger management candidate and live with what already happened. :hi:

Herman is the best young head coach in America.

The dude can coach some offense and develop qbs.

And he can adjust to his personnel.

Texas will be in the Playoffs next year.

I don't know about making the playoffs next year. He can definitely recruit too.

I said basically how this was rolling before ESPN started there nonsense on Thursday. LSU was not going to be in a bidding war, there is nothing complex about this. You are angry for some unknown reason, once I pointed it out you got even worse. There is nothing to spin, not sure what that even means. LSU was not going to be in a bidding war, LSU did negotiate with Herman but as soon as he said he wanted to hear Texas's offer it was over. He is lucky to get what he got from Texas.

Not angry and there was no bidding war for your team not to be part of. That's spin from disappointed LSU denizens. Just like projecting me as angry and you as calm and reasonable. :)

I have no idea what you are talking about nor do I know what there is to spin. It might be that I am not a champion of life therefore the message might be lost in translation.

Yes, you appear to be upset/angry.... I guess you are trying to say something but its beyond me what it is.

And no I am not disappointed. :loco: How someone post 33,000 times in 3 years is beyond me, maybe take a long walk every once in a while.

You have. 3283 X as many posts as I do on another's team's board. How much kickass time did you sacrifice? :)

You should really knock off your condescending high road line of tripe. It just makes you sound like a smug tool. As my father taught me a long time ago its better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt. And that is a very common life lesson. One you should look into a bit. 👌
