You have. 3283 X as many posts as I do on another's team's board. How much kickass time did you sacrifice? :)

Sorry, but I was a member of one other sports board but that was used many years ago. I've been using the internet since the BB days, I seriously doubt if you added up all the posts I have ever posted on ANY subject matter whether football or otherwise... no way it even scratches the surface on 33,000+ posts, let alone 33,000 in 3 years. I'm not sure how you could have a life, but maybe that is not a question.

As far as our conversation, it is apparent you are upset about something, I don't understand what you are even saying at all. With that said, I have found when there is a conversation lost in translation to such an extent it is best to just use the ignore button, that way more conversation can be lost in the translation. So, I bid you good day and a nice life... if what you call what you are doing as nice.... each his own.

Well he finished third in the American Conferences Western Divison this year so nah.

And beat 3 top programs in less than a calendar year. Those losses came after the Big 12 shot down expansion. His team knew they were losing him and couldn't keep playing above their talent level.

Paying a coach who has never coached in a P5 conference Saban money? I would have to argue against the bargain value of that decision.

Saban makes 7 mil. Herman is making scale of what Charlie Strong did...bargain.

Calendar year? That's one way to boost a resume. Lol.

This website: https://hkm.com/football/contracts/nick-saban/ has a .pdf at the bottom showing Saban's contract at around 6 million for this year. But you're right Googling it reveals around 7 million. Regardless, this contract puts Hermann into the top 5 coaching salaries in all of CFB. The man who just crapped the bed against Memphis and had a playoff spot with his name on it after they beat OU. Going to the playoff will never be as easy for Hermann as it was this year and he still managed to lose 3 games.

Key words...after they beat Oklahoma and Florida State and before they beat Louisville. A team he'd coached one and a half years and then ran into a scared Big 12. They voted against expansion and his team was smart enough to know they would lose their coach. Shock that they'd have some down performances. This is a franchise coach. You don't hire them AFTER they become so, usually...unless you're in lucky timing like Bama and Ohio State. Some have to identify them and hire them early. 5 mil is the starter for him...add 2-3 mil as the results flow in. Texas doing a Darrell Royal here.

Time was of the essence... He did a lot with basically one recruiting class. Imagine a 3-4 year plan...bet Houston does late at night. :pinch:

Lets not forget that many people said the same thing about Sumlin. Bottom line: This is a $20 million gamble by Texas. And desperation normally doesn't work too well in big time CFB.

Don't remember being as impressed with a new HC as I am Herman. Have already congratulated my brother-in-law and the other Horn fans I know. I reserve the right to be wrong but I think the boys in Austin hit a home run swinging for the fences. Don't think it was desperation...more realization. They have money to burn in this booster club and this mere pittance is going to fuel a legacy coaching era...again JMO.
