Texas Longhorn TV Network

Texas mentality = We are far superior in academics, morals, recruiting strategies, and general standards of achievement than any hickville school in the SEC. Yes that includes you Vandy.

In other words, the same BS attitude that the entire state of Texas has towards the other 49 states. Lovely.

Texas A&M and Oklahoma(Personal belief) to the SEC by 2014. Book it. And for those who are questioning why Slive and the SEC would want A&M, your answer? Texas market and direct pipeline to its recruiting base.

i worded it a bit harshly,

I meant though they're not near as nationally popular as they need to be / sometimes think they are to form/have their own network (i.e. around texas's level) anytime soon

it'd be years from now before they'd be able to do it

I hope we never try. We have a national fan base, but to start a network, you have to have a couple of instate markets that will form the backbone of your viewership. When Birmingham, Mobile, and Huntsville are those markets for your team, it's just not gonna work.

Did anybody else read where "The Longhorn Network" is planning on televising high school football games:bad:? The NCAA better not let that happen..........:bad:

Texas has set themselves up to become independent. The PAC 10 won't take with their tv deal, and the SEC is below their standards.

Just give it time. We'll be there shortly. The folks in Lawrence are shopping as we speak.

Jumped over to the free site on TOS at ATM and there is a lot of blow up over there. Says ATM is looking hard , the offer from SEC still stands, and OU is looking again as well, but not as enthused.

I feel the same way that you do about this but the NCAA most likely signed off on this behind closed doors...ESPN's lawyers wouldn't allow the network to sink $300 million into the project on ifs and maybes. Very unfair recruiting edge for the longhorns minor sports. A&M Women's BB coach put it this way...if the longhorn network were up and running when Brittney Griner were still in high school they could simply tell her we will air all of your games. Same with all minor sports.
