Thank God for adidas

Miss St. has the best Adidas football uniform design that's out. I don't know why we can't get a variation of those some kind of way.

Because we're the University of Tennessee, and we don't need a MSU knockoff as our uniform. If anyone is going to be knocking off uniform designs, it should be other schools using ours.

Because that's not what UT wants. Adidas will put out whatever we ask for, and what you see on the field is what we asked for.

yup. as of at least last season, our unis were still made by the same people who made Nike Unis and the jersey before that. They just stamp an Adidas logo on it and bam it costs a fortune!

I don't get all this "we need to change" crap. For one....Kiffin DID change things this year. He wore the orange pants more this season than Fulmer did in 16 years. He brought back the white jersey/orange pants combo. He introduced a black jersey. We wore all 4 basic combinations of our uniforms in one season for the first time I can ever remember. He wasn't anywhere close to being as uptight about the uniforms as Fulmer was.

Change for change's sake is stupid, as is changing just because "everyone" else is. Most of the teams that make all these changes are the same teams that are lucky to make a decent bowl every year. Most of the Nike uniforms from this week were idiotic looking. Seriously someone thinks a black M against a dark gray helmet actually is a good look? The only ones that looked ok were the few that were actually more throwback than new. I"m all for the new material but that doesn't mean you have to make some goofy design that will be out of style in 3 years.

miami was cool bc they didnt change the helmets. this interest in black uni's or going to under armour is flat out bush league.

They were the second best helmets they came out with next to FSU's.

I thought the uniforms were horrible. What were those wing looking things on the shoulders?

Defending the black jerseys, CLK reminded us that this (college football) is a player's game, and the players wanted the jerseys. As far as unis go, they really do have an (non-trivial) impact on recruiting. We should absolutely not want other teams to have a competitive advantage in the name of our personal preferences. I trust (and expect) our coaching staff to work with Adidas or whoever to be progressive in this and every other possible regard to do whatever it takes to win championships.
