Thank God for adidas

I saw the specs for these things circulating a few weeks ago and these pants are definitely NOT the same as the specs... the manufacturer screwed up.

True..or UF wanted different pants than the white pants they were supposed to wear....link coming

You must be 18 and that means, God, I'm getting old! On another note, I would like to switch to Under Armour for jerseys and apparel. They have the best looking/technologically advanced stuff out there

You must be wearing orange UA right now trying to relive your glory days.

I'm not really a fan of most of those Nike uniforms, however I think they've got the best marketing I've ever seen on them. That website with each uniform discussed and displayed is a great idea.

Because i'm so concerned with not getting on your blocked list??? I could care less, i thought they were awesome. I'm 19 and i guarantee you other 18-19 year old recruits thought they were badass as well. It's 2009 not 1969. It's time for an upgrade, atleast add a stripe or two or something.

Simmer down there, buddy. He was only half-serious. Remember, we're all on the same team here.

:salute:GO VOLS!!!:salute:

Some of you guys are freaking out over these 1 game uniforms. I'm not saying I liked them, but did you guys see Bama's new pro combat uni's or Penn State's? No you didn't, because they chose not to have a new design. You have to figure that their Nike reps would have asked them or pitched them. No way Nike has the final say in everything. Texas just put #s on their helmet and wouldn't let Nike do anything else bc of their tradition. It would be a great thing for the entire Athletic Department to be outfitted by Nike and keep our traditional integrity. The Nike uniforms, sideline gear, and fan gear are much better than Adidas.

Dude, last time the UT contract was put out to bid, Nike wasn't even in the same ballpark as Adidas. For one, Adidas provides UT with it's own rep wheras if we went with Nike, we should share a rep with several other schools. Secondly, Adidas pays WELL. UT would be considered a 2nd tier school at Nike, not so with Adidas.

BTW, do you Nike homers really NOT know where to buy Nike UT gear?

Did you notice how Mike Strange missed every game but the UF/FSU game?:post-4-1090547912:

Sorry, didn't see this post until after I made mine.

Great minds think alike!

GO VOLS!!!

Edit: Ok, so I tried to make a post talking about that guy being 1-5, with his 1 correct pick being the weekly "lock of the week" with Florida's win over FSU, but apparently the post didn't go through. Sorry if that was confusing.

I couldn't disagree more. I think Adidas has done a great job for Tennessee since 1998 when they came on board. That was fine by me because I hate Nike with an unbridled passion. Phil Knight is what ruined sports and made it all about glam and bling.

If you want to consider Under Armour or someone like that, I'd be fine with it. If UT were to go to Nike, however, that would be the last time I'd even think of buying official merchandise that the team wears. Nike is never an option when I purchase athletic gear.

JMHO

UA equipment is subpar. The body armour is good but the gloves and cleats are terrible.

I have to agree with you on the UA cleats. I bought my son a high $$$ pair this football season, and had to replace them by mid-season.He's just a freshman and hardly got any reps at that point.

Still the award for worst uni change goes to Georgia for the black helmets.

Are you kidding dude? Those were some great uniforms. They just lost while playing in them. But those unis were nice. Helmets and all. I don't know why posters are against change. Because a lot of the throwback uniforms were good with me. And Oregon uniforms are okay with me. I just don't get it.

These and FSU's unis were the only ones I liked.

Especially the helmets.

Mizzou's unis were by far the best...I loved them and the grey flat look on the helmets with the black stripe and logo looked awesome!

How long before Adidas starts to follow Nike's lead..
The classic white on white was a breath of fresh air!

95% of all Nike school uniforms now have an identity crisis on their hands, not to mention hysteria from fans having to eat the changes. I say no thanks to Nike ever making our uniforms. I am not old fashioned but their stuff is complete garbage, could Adidas upgrade ours? sure, but not this off the wall stuff Nilke puts out. I understand why alot of the younger fans want Nike, it is more about the shoes, it's "hip" to wear Nike. That should not cloud your mind on wanting Nike, nor should their football camps. IMHO 95% of the kids playing college football go to a school for other reasons then Nike, Adidas or Under Armour being the sponsor.

If Adidas would workout something like Central Michigan's jerseys for us that would be just fine with me. whatever change IS made it needs to follow the K.I.S.S. train of thought.

Miss St. has the best Adidas football uniform design that's out. I don't know why we can't get a variation of those some kind of way.
