Thank god we lost

While I hate it that we lost, I kind of agree with you... had we went 7-5 or 8-5 with a bowl win, the fan base would still be divided on whether Dooley should have been fired. Now, most of the fan base is united and completely behind the firing of Dooley and moving on. That being said, we need to win out and these boys need to get a bowl, its been a tough 3/4/5 years for a lot of players!

I will NEVER cheer for the Vols to lose. However, you are absolutely right. A loss was the best thing that could have happened to this program moving forward.

I think his post is more of a "in hindsight" post. Everyone jumping the gun saying they'd never cheer for a loss is missing the point. Of course no one would cheer for a loss, but, now having lost, thank god [Dooley is gone].

I know of a few who were actively cheering for a loss and, good for the program or not...I will NEVER understand it. If it happens then it happens and we move on but how can you call yourself a fan and actively cheer for your team to lose. Makes no sense to me.

Yeah and I think people here have lumped him into that category. Which he may fall under but I don't think so. I know I watched the game, got excited in the first half, thought wtf throughout the rest of the game. Was sad after we lost, then kinda glad in a mad f you Dooley way if that makes sense. Just feels like the final nail in his coffin. Best of luck to him but I just can't stomach another crap season, I grew up in the 90s so maybe I'm spoiled

Sacrilege? Not even close. With that loss even big media members are publicly calling for dooley's firing, nevermind the entire fanbase. I dont see how any fan could conclude that a 4 ot win would be anywhere near as valuable to the program as this loss is.

Trying to weigh the Short-term sadness the players might feel from yet ANOTHER dooley loss up against the brighter future this program just won itself last night is incomparable and ignorant at best. no one has hurt the kids more than dooley and his incompetence...not sure how this could be refuted.

You are worse than a troll and you obviously never played a down of football other than on your play station in your mama's basement. You don't have a clue about why these games are played and it makes me want to throw up that you would ever consider yourself a Vol fan.

It does make sense because it's literally exactly how I felt. Nailed it.
