Admitting this kind of thing is harder than Tebow coming out of the closet. I have a feeling several people on here save face by saying "nah man I ain't nerr happy wen muh Volz lose!"

I can't say I was "happy" with the loss, but I definitely wasn't sad.

Until you've experienced the kind of elitist bull**** that Big10 fans say about the SEC (and the south, in general), I would expect this sentiment. Mom and sister are Big10 alums and going to a game at Ohio St or Wisconsin will embolden your views about the SEC.

I rejoiced when A&M beat Alabama. And I'll rejoice again when an SEC team wins the NC for a seventh straight year.

Any fan that truly wishes for the Vols to lose is not a real fan. Of course we want a coaching change, but rooting against the Vols is sacrilegious.

I'm not happy we lost, but at least now we don't have to hear some silliness about how Dooley will be retained if he wins out.

Motion to revoke his status as a Vol..... Can I get a second? Ive said it before on volnation and ill say it again. You always want Tennessee to win! NO MATTER WHAT!! I dont care if the ghost of Vince Lambardi was coming back to coach this team with General Neyland running the defense YOU NEVER WANT TENNESSEE TO LOSE... NEVER...

I could never be happy we lost. No matter what we will always have to live with this loss to Missouri.

I agree, it's time for a coaching change but there is no guarantee things will get better. Things can always get worse. Just ask some of the people who are now looking back fondly at Fulmer's final seasons.

You sir have lost your mind. Former players agree with me. Thank god dooley is gone. They hate this era of Tennessee football. We love the men in orange, we hate their commander who leads them to their slaughter.

I can't root for UT to lose. My son and I watch every game and root for them every play. The loss Saturday was sickening. To see our coach quit at the end was hard to explain. We should never play for overtime with that defense. Someone posted the stat that our opponents score 97% of the time once they are in the redzone. Those numbers didn't look any better starting at the 25 yard line.

Lol youmadbro? The only reason one would hope for a loss is to ensure Dooley being gone. If he runs the table and wins a bowl game you realize he will probably be coming back. But, he loses this weekend or next he is for sure gone. Dooley has got to go. I think we can all agree on that. No need to bash another fans view on the matter. I'm not saying I hope we lose but I can totally understand why someone would. Lets just put it this way. If we win great ill be happy because I'm a Vol. if we lose I'm going to accept that as dooleys fate. So stop being a sheep and realize what is going on in Knoxville.

Heres the thing...that loss pissed me off more than any other loss this season. It was utterly demoralizing. It pissed me off so much that I made this post. because in hindsight I have concluded that that loss did more for the players and program than any other game in the history of derek dooley. I never actively cheered against the team, and I shutter to think of my reaction if we lose to either vandy or ky. That being said, I do burn a ut flag every night before bed.

Never happy with a Tennessee loss. That is one more loss solidifying our position with the SEC's DOA crowd.

Let's just speculate we don't replace Bizarro Saban with a home-run hire. The new man will probably come into a program that has a 2-14 or 1-15 record in conference over the last two years, a program that hasn't been relevant in the SEC since 2007. To all of us who grew up loving the Big Orange, we are Tennessee. We are a top 10 program with the championships and the tradition to back it up.

But to that 17 year old, we are also Tennessee. The program that can't beat Wyoming, the program that can't win a game in the SEC, and the program that misses bowls more than it makes them. This rebuild isn't going to be as easy as some think it will be. UTAD let this program slide exponentially and it will take considerable work to bring it back to where it should be.

Every loss buries this program in the bottom tier of the SEC. I want Doolander gone. I wanted him gone last year.

For the sake of the next man coming in, however, I want Tennessee to win out and make it to a bowl. An appearance in an obscure bowl isn't much to sell to recruits. But it is far better than the alternative we're staring starkly at right now.
