That game made Tennessee America’s second favorite team.

Wlac in Nashville 1510 am...used to carry Vol Network. 50k watt station heard all over the southeast and midwest....but a few years ago they stopped carrying Vols and went with Vandy. I get it. Nashville is the home of Vandy...but it sucks cuz I used to be able to listen to Vol Calls and all that even living up north....and any games that were on at night. Wlac doesn't even carry Vandy anymore. I think some fm station does now.
Before internet or satellite radio, clear channel am was a football fans best friend. I remember very well catching short static filled snippets of vol games when living down in Huntsville back in the early 2000s. You really pulled for night games because those were the only ones you could hear

I’ve been wondering about this. I think what they mean is that everybody has a favorite team…so that part is relative. But everyone’s SECOND favorite team is now Tennessee. At least that’s how I read it.
Thank you for saying much better what I was trying to say.

Instead of hustling for dollars to replace goal posts, TN should be marketing UT sportswear heavily across the entire country via internet to capitalize on the great exposure of beating Bama. Increase those ad dollars!

Oh...I understand now.

Yeah, I don't see that at all. Misery loves company. Gators wanted us to lose to Bama. So, did Kentucky, Vandy, Gamecocks, etc

I’m very happy this highly anticipated College Football game was amazing, and the Volunteers defeated the favored Crimson Tide in a high scoring thriller 52-49.

I’m not surprised I was proven right that the Volunteers fans storm the field if the Volunteers won.

I was stunned by the unforgettable amazing 4th quarter including Tennessee stopping Alabama on 3rd down, and the Alabama kicker Reichard failing to make a long game winning field goal.
The 2022 Volunteers gave Volunteers fans the amazing satisfaction of the happy ending since they outplayed a favored Crimson Tide in a high scoring thriller, and they defeated the Crimson Tide with a game winning field goal.

I watch most games, not just Tennessee games, on YouTube. I don't pay much attention to "watching" numbers but I don't remember seeing a number over 11,000. I did notice that one then started looking at it throughout the game. It reached 73,000 at one point.

Need to run through the rest of these next 6 like Drano.
I don't consider myself a smart person but, Huh? 🤣🤣

The way the game played out couldn't have been any better. I think we were capable of beating them by 2-3 scores, but when you look at the way it happened, it allowed millions of people to have the ultimate thrill. Whether it was other fan bases just wanting the evil TIDE to lose or Vol fans having something to remember for the rest of their lives, this game was one of the best to ever be viewed. How many times has the "puke and rally" been viewed? The Saban meltdown? The kick? The final drive? The Bama miss? Why wasn't the winning kick a perfect end over end kick? This game did more for Tennessee football than any I can remember. The 98 championship was huge, but we had been winning at a pretty high level for a while. This was BIG. Couldn't have scripted it any better. And that's all I got to say about that.

I’m very happy the Volunteers won a high scoring thriller since they defeated the Crimson Tide in dramatic fashion.

The thrilling 4th Quarter in a high scoring thriller with the Volunteers making a game winning field goal was fitting because Tennessee defeated Alabama for the first time in the Nick Saban era.

They outplayed the Crimson Tide in a game where Alabama took advantage of the fumble in the 4th Quarter, and Alabama did win the turnover battle by 1.

This was a challenging game that the Volunteers could have realistically lost except they didn’t because the 2022 Volunteers are a resilient team playing great that can execute critical plays needed to defeat ranked teams.

2021 was a common rebuilding year that had the Volunteers usually losing to ranked teams including the Rebels because the Volunteers were outplayed.

Adversity reveals character, and the Volunteers executed critical plays on defense and offense needed to defeat a favored great Crimson Tide team.

Probably the most exciting start to finish game I have witnessed in my 63 years and I probably lost 4 pounds and smiled 95% of it. Great game and wonderful outcome. I had a "destiny outlook" the whole game. My sister texted me, "game over" on the scoop and score. I texted back, "no way" and cut my ringer off. Them VOLS were unflappable.

My favorite is the Florida fans cheering for a result that would only hurt them. I haven't lived in the South since Saban took over, those Bama fans must be insufferable.

Well technically speaking, you are worrying about what Florida thinks. And I cannot lower myself to worry about that.

That's why we need to beat these dudes AGAIN this year.

That's never happened to a Saban team!
