Tums will do anything to avoid answering this question, with good reason: a "no" means that even he doesn't always support what he calls "equality," and can't then use that word as a standard for demonizing others' opinions (at least, not without being extremely hypocritical). A "yes" makes him look bad, or at least "politically incorrect."
Your previous post represents exactly what this thread is actually about...its not 1 word and who uses it, its about the fact that a white guy gets called out for wearing dreads like Bob Marley for supposedly stealing another races culture, but in your mind thats only a 1 way street. White culture cant be stolen. Which doesnt make sense, its illogical.
The elephant in the room is that if a black person gets too good at it, or signs a several million dollar contract and marries a beautiful blonde white woman (as many, many of them do...see NBA, NFL, MLB)... they are called oreos, uncle Toms, and several other names that cant be posted here...and accused of "selling out their race"...but again, only called these things by blacks themselves. Not white folks. I have never once heard a white person criticize a black athlete, rapper etc. For having a hot white wife, never once heard a white guy say "you know what, that Colin Powell is too much like us. He wears a belt so we cant see his damn underwear, speaks with perfect grammar, has conservative ideals based in personal responsibility instead of affirmative action. He needs to quit stealing our culture."
It simply doesnt happen. Much like the BLM garbage (all lives matter, black ones are no different) the ignorance at Mizzou that resulted in enrollment and donations to the university being cut in half this year, the push at some campuses now for segregated housing and other black only venues on campus...I am 40 years old. 20 years ago roughly when i was in HS it was no big deal for a white girl to date black guys or vice versa, there was no racial tension or drama in my extremely diverse HS. I played football all the way thru school and was 1 of 2 white kids on the team. Those guys on my team were my brothers. Not all of them of course, but many. We hung out outside of school. We partied together. Racism wasnt a problem, wasnt talked about. Ever. Have i been called "cracker" or "white boy " many many many times in my life? Yeah. That never offended me. I didnt care. Nobody actually hated me or wished me harm because of my skin color. We had this racism crap squashed a generation ago. Squashed.
So what the hell happened? Is it because we elected a black president who we thought would at least be a dexent unifier and instead he got involved in local issues like Trayvon and Missouri that presidents never get into and HE drove a wedge right in the middle of American culture? I am honestly not sure. I cant say its all Obamas fault, but I am certain he contributed greatly. " if i had a son, he would look like Trayvon. " Thats the dumbest thing ever said. So what? If GWB had a son, he would look like Bart Simpson. Who cares? What does that have to do with anything at all? Nothing. At all. There was absolutely no good that came from that ignorant, irrelevant statement. I still dont know exactly what the intentions of that comment were. I know it pissed off a lot of ignorant black people, at white people, because a black dude gpt killed by a latino for kicking his ass...what does that have to do with white people? Or the president?
The point of this thread is there are a whole lot of white people out there who have never done anything racist to anyone, of any color, who actually dont give a damn what color a persons skin is because they evaluate people as individuals, but are getting very, very, very tired of beimg told that while they work their butts off just trying to put food on the table and give their kids a decent life that they are somehow the bad guys, constantly being demonized and told they cant say this, or cant do that, or they are systematically oppressing him or her with stupid made up bullcrap like "micro aggressions"...the average white dude doesnt have time to hate or oppress anyone. Between work, coaching ball, church, and all the other responsibilities we have just to take care of the people we love the most...we dont really give a damn about anyone or what they are doing as long as they arent making a mess we have to clean up or trying to take the things away that we work so hard for.
Let the media, minorities, etc.etc
Keep pushing honest, hard working white people who have the best of intentions until we finally get backed into a corner and simply dont give a damn anymore. Then the world will see what we look like when we do actually harbor hate, anger, bitterness, and violence. Keep poking the bear. Eventually, the bear will have had enough and there will be hell to pay. I promise you that while i am certainly not eloquent, and tend to ramble without punctuation or paragraphs...there are many many people who feel the same way I do. Tired of being demonized and criticized. Your crappy life is not my fault. Try harder. I did. I came from nothing, dropped out of Hs and got a GED so I could start a family early...and still managed to make low 6 figures last year. Legally. By working 6 days a week, 51 weeks a year. Life is hard. Buckle up.
