That's racist!

"Hey black people, you will accept whatever treatment we give you until you have fixed your own issues. Then you can complain."

"Who decides when we've fixed our issues and can speak up?"

"Well, we do, of course. We'll let you know when you're allowed to speak."

You are a white supremacist if you believe white people have this much say in your personal life.

You've apparently assumed that you know how many "waking hours" the 40 million black people in this country have collectively devoted to each issue

You are one person. You probably sleep about 7 to 8 hours per night. That leaves you with about 16 hours per day. Presumably you work for half of those hours. That leaves 8 hours to concern yourself with black lives. How many of the 8 hours should you personally devote to worrying about blacks being killed by whites vs blacks being killed by blacks? Perhaps those 8 hours should be divided proportionally to the frequency of one category occurring vs the other. Only about 8% of black homicides were committed by whites in 2016. So proportionally, you should devote about 40 minutes of your 8 free hours worrying about that. The rest should be spent on the bigger issue, yes?

Both leaders you mentioned want the statues removed

Ok tear down the statues, then what? Will black "leaders" start addressing the real problems in their communities? You know the 74% of babies born out of wedlock. The fact that only 69% of AA graduate from high school? The nearly 400k abortions that black women get per year? The lack of economic opportunity in inner cities?

Why do you assume that they don't?

Every black person who brings those things up is labeled an Uncle Tom and thrown into the white supremacy camp. You've done it in this very thread.

I've never called Barkley an Uncle Tom; I don't really think that term should exist. He just doesn't really understand the issues and claims to represent large groups of people anyway.

There's nothing strawman about it. No one considers him a "leader" of the black community other than conservatives who drag him on TV to say, "Look, a black person agrees with me!"

To "lead" a community, that community has to lend some weight to your opinion, no?

Well then who does the black community see as a leader? And why does the black community need a leader so to speak?

Agreeing with a person who calls Barkley a "black white supremacist" is close enough to calling him an Uncle Tom that a distinction is somewhat meaningless.

Cultural Marxism. Black people are a class, and classes need leaders to speak in their behalf since they are oppressed and their voices can't be heard.

What I would like to know is what is the black community? Is it a club you get into for being black? Does your black upper class doctor or lawyer fit into this community the same way a black criminal slinging rocks in the hood does? Can you get excommunicated from the community for being perceived as too culturally "white". Does the white population have a white community also? How does it work?

Good lord. I'd hate to go through life looking to be constantly butt-hurt at the racist boogeyman.

According to the author of the Barkley hit piece, working hard and investing your money wisely is the exclusive domain of white people. So as far as I can tell, by his logic, the way to be black is to not work hard and to not invest wisely? Which means that there are now as many white people who are black as there are black people who are black? I think? My head is spinning.

Dont forget over 50% are on welfare of some kind.

I see you're still bringing the heat...... are you sure you're the same SamRebel of old? 🔥

I don't think he's a white supremacist either; I said he's bad at talking about race and isn't representative, and people then started making me the spokesperson for that article.

And just to clarify, why do you think Barkley is bad at talking about race? Because you disagree with his conclusions?

Most of this was in response to McDad's post about what black "leaders" think. Ask him, he's the one that started talking about them

I asked you what makes Barkley terrible when discussing subjects related to ethnicity when the "leaders" of the hyper-melanin community say similar things. A question which you answered with a reference to some Sheriff. A question I am still interested in your perspective on.

No, he just doesn't understand the viewpoint of others beyond himself, and deflects to "buh black-on-black crime" instead of trying to understand.

Hell, people probably used that in the '60s, too. "Why are you complaining about Jim Crow? We can talk about Jim Crow once you fix black-on-black crime." If that's "logic" to you, you might want to examine it a little
