Is there a business that has stayed around as long as the WNBA while still losing money every year???
I think that plays into some of the angst against the WNBA. They are a poor product..and hell even the Big 3 League is profitable..why doea the WNBA get a pass to lose money, cuz it women?? Sounds like equality to me

The NBA took about 25 years to bring in the level of revenue (adjusted for time period) that the WNBA is now. The Big3 sold a team for $10M when the Seattle Storm was recently valued at $151M, so I don’t believe you that the Big3 is “more profitable”

She may be white but the consensus seems to be against the assertion she is attractive. In fact other athletes in her draft class, high profile at that, are much more attractive........ At least IMO.

I get what she's saying but those standards apply fairly evenly, everywhere. I think there may be a little to this "white hope" effect for casual white audiences........ But that interest will soon dissipate, for the casual observers anyway.

She is popular bc she is doing things that we haven’t seen before in the women’s game. The woman had 41 points 12 assists 7 rebounds to upset a much more talented LSU team… There are also much more attractive players in the WNBA. The women need to hope she is successful bc that will make all of them a lot of money.

Caitlin Clark is not attractive. Unless people like Sunny Delight there are trying to imply white girl = attractive.

Caitlin Clark is awesome at basketball. That’s why people like her.

Shes incredible. Still sleeving 3s from the logos...8 feet past the pro 3 point line...regularly. Shes also good off the dribble and a great rebounder especially for her size. She is the closest thing to Steph Curry I have ever seen in a female player, and its fun to watch. I have only watched some highlights as a pro, but I watched as many games as possible in both tournaments in college as well as a few regular season games. I agree with you that she is not attractive. She isnt ugly either to be fair ... but she is not gonna be attractive to most men IMO

Hence the reason that I think her popularity has zero to do with her race, and everything to do with the style that she plays. As you said, basketball fans like her for the same reason they like Steph, she does things that are unreal.
