Did anyone see the Golf Channel coverage last night that talked about Tiger's first trip around the place this year. Said he only missed one fairway. I don't believe that as far as I could punt Tim Herron, but if it's even remotely true, he wins in cakewalk style.
Yeah, I saw that. Is he a Brit? And how did he qualify?
Have you seen those church pew bunkers? That is one of the scariest looking hazards I've ever seen. You get a bad lie in there and hitting it sideways is the only option.
a couple of the holes were decent, but it was pretty much just another course. The finish at the 18th from St Andrews was pretty good.I wasn't familiar with many of the holes they were attempting to replicate. The ones I was aware of were pretty weak IMHO. If I didn't know what it was supposed to be, I'd have thought it was just another course.
agreed.......did you catch him on PTI last night? The biggest drawback to the Open being contested at Oakmont... I'll have to hear from and about 'The Ego' until Sunday night...
like all of those guys, and Fherty is a riot. we were at the Wachovia a couple of years ago, on no.10 and he was following Phil, after his tee shot, he was striding down the fairway and my brother just ran over to the rope and said....."2003 Tiger Woods Golf, you rule!"I'll take Johnny Miller, Nick Faldo and Gary McCord all day long. You can have the rest of them, except maybe Feherty.
someone said +4 last night, that seems a little more reasonable. It is early but 7 players are -1 to this point. Forecasts of +10 winning just don't seem likely. These guys are really good.
Absolutely. And no, I would not be a bit surprised to see a winner at +2 to +4...someone said +4 last night, that seems a little more reasonable.
the rain last night may help some scoring today, but i don't think any rain is in the forecast, i expect by the weekend, the course will be flexing it's muscle.
