i mostly meant that for those that went after me last night when I said this tournament was far from over. Although I had to listen to XM radio for the 18th hole and playoff and one of their announcers actually said no one gave Rocco a chance in this playoff.

Overall, Torrey and the Sahn Dee-ah-go area fared very well. The course was in great shape and uniformly praised by the players yet still gave up only even par.
The crowds were huge and enthusiastic.
The views were awesome - some of the holes are simply breath taking. It makes the most recent US Open at Pinehurst look pretty poor IMHO.
I was one of them. And while RM made a go of it, and it was obviously as close as it can possibly get, in the end you must admit that Tiger simply willed himself to win this one. That's why I thought it was over.
I am sure that Tiger will one day lose a Sunday lead at a major. But you could see yesterday that he had made up his mind that this was not going to be that one.
But, if you're cool enough to call Tiger by "Eldrick" obviously you're one savvy golfer full of knowledge that can be topped by no one.
You saying that there was still a lot of golf to be played (considering there was an 18 hole playoff today and Tiger having to battle a bum knee), was the understatement of the year. That was why I was was getting on you. That and the fact that you were obviously trying to find a reason to hate on Tiger.
do you really think anyone believes that?
You're the one that busted on me when I mentioned Tiger didn't barely make his birdie on Sunday, that instead he all but drained it. All your pro Tiger garbage proves you wrong. You truly thought it was over because you think no matter what Tiger is invincible. He's great. He's legendary. However, with a bum knee and driver he can't control, he's not invincible
Two individual competitors with the mental toughness to keep coming back against each other again and again, on their sport's biggest stage.
It is the rarest of things. Borg/McEnroe Wimbledon in '80, and Sampras/Agassi at the Open in '01 are the kind of examples that come to mind. Rocco/Tiger in the '08 US Open now joins one of the smallest lists in sports.
What a treat it was to see what I saw yesterday. I'm a lucky dude.
well no one gets away with cursing like that in other sports and you never saw Rocco busting out the "damn" when a shot didn't go his way.
Rocco played very steady and solid golf and had it not been for his hiccup on nine (and nothing of Tiger's doing), we would have a first time major winner right now.
