The 108th U.S. Open Championship

I just heard Goosen's comments about Tiger "faking" the injury. Wow.......bring in superman to turn back time!!!!!! What a screw up. He was hurt MUCH worse than everone thought!!!!! I'm sorry!
And for much longer.

Tiger has 10 wins(two major) and 2 second place finishes, and a Fedex cup since he actually ruptured the ACL. A hall of fame career for others played entirely on a torn ACL. Man that's just crazy..

Tiger is great.....and will be the best ever when finished.

I 'm tired of the "Hogan" comparisons in newspapers and blogs around the country about this great win with an injured knee. Hogan almost died! Tiger took 8 weeks off for a surgery that keeps a hockey/football player out for 4 weeks. Give me a break. If he was not ready to play, he would not have played. He WILL play in the British Open. It's all part of the Tiger mistique! He is the BEST athlete in the world. No question about it! He is Ali and Ruth!

I can't hear you...

no no. you were acting as if he wasn't going to LOSE all year, which, now that he's done for 08, make you look even more silly.

Oh, my bad for not forseeing an ACL/knee injury.

The fact is that even when he has been hampered by an injured knee for the last 10 months or so, he was still kicking tail... imagine what he could have done if healthy.

Sucks to have Tiger out. There goes the TV ratings for the rest of the tournaments this year.

My dad, a huuuuuuge golf buff, says in light of the news about Tiger's surgery, he called Tiger's U.S. Open performance the gutsiest and one of the greatest ever in televised golf.

He would have done no better healthy. The torn ACL obviously didn't hamper his golf swing and likely wasn't causing him pain, or he would have had the surgery sooner.

I know we all want to make this heroic story of this injury, but it didn't turn into the issue that it was this weekend until, well, this weekend.

Does seem pretty clear that it was in fact the compound stress fracture that created all the pain. I do think it is safe to say he's been in considerable discomfort with the knee for a long time though...

i have seen a compound fracture in person. that is definitely where the bone comes out of the skin.

Is that like where the bone breaks the skin...

yeah, i believe the correct term would be double stress fracture.

Holy crap. Double sounds like compound to me. Since when does a stress fracture break the skin? What, am I supposed to cross reference my post with the AMA?.... You guys....

:nono:

I said I was wrong!! I admit when I am wrong. Before the full story came out, it seemed to be overblown.

The extent of his injury has been disclosed, and I was wrong! Read the other posts! I admitted I was wrong!!! Get over it!
