What about the brouhaha being made over the speed skating suits?

It's kind of comical that they were rolled out to such fanfare, and now people are wondering if they hinder performance.

I disagree. Our skaters were having success against the same opposition on the World Cup circuit. What's the big difference between the last few months and now??? The suits.

I don't understand how Lockheed Martin and under armour didn't detect this issue during model development and testing. Maybe they did, and assumed the impact was minimal? CFD analysis and wind tunnel testing definitely should have exposed the problem.

I don't know about particular odds, but I've heard that the medal favorites are primarily Canada and Russia, with Finland and the US vying for the third spot.

Of Holland's 17 medals thus far, 16 are in speedskating. That's amazing!

On a related note, given how poor Team USA's performance has been in men's and women's speedskating, you really do have to wonder about those new suits. Team USA did much better in speedskating in the 2010 Olympics. It's hard for me to believe they got this crappy in just four years.
